Re: Prey 2 - What's its future now that 3DR is 'practically' closed ?
Well.. Remember what George Broussard stated on the press release... It'll exist as a company, licencing games, etc... so.. yeah it would still on if it depend of it... BUT It doesn't matter to PREY 2 anyway... since it's being in developement by Human Head Studios and Produced by Radar Group..
So, Prey 2 and Earth No More will be release, yes. There's no problem with their developement. |
Re: Prey 2 - What's its future now that 3DR is 'practically' closed ?
3DRealms has no part in PREY 2's development. So, even if 3DR did completely shut down it wouldn't effect it.

Thanks for the eply guys. Damn I now wish Human Head and/or Radar group picks up and finishes DNF. But thanks guys for your replies. I can now atleast hope to see Prey 2 before I die.

Re: Prey 2 - What's its future now that 3DR is 'practically' closed ?
I actually played Prey 2 last week and throughly enjoyed it, even more then I enjoyed it first time. Come to think about it, I think I had too much high expectations the first time I played it. And perhaps the newer graphics card aslo made a difference :).

shouldn't there be any news by now about prey 2? it looks like they are using brand new tech if it takes this long...

Re: Prey 2 - What's its future now that 3DR is 'practically' closed ?
I hope to see something... at least a teaser trailer or screen by years end... I thought that Prey had a pretty good emotional punch, I hope the second installment is as good or better.

Prey 2 use Physx by Nvidia, good very good.
I hope use intensive Physx. I found this news while I was looking at the list of titles that use physx nvidia and between these there is 2 prey. here: http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_physxgames_home.html And always in this list I noticed that the developer will always be human head. |

Re: Prey 2 - What's its future now that 3DR is 'practically' closed ?
Do you think they are holding Prey 2 back so they can get approval from Mystique to add a "Custer's Revenge" multiplayer mode?

Re: Prey 2 - What's its future now that 3DR is 'practically' closed ?
PREY is RADAR groups project, not 3DRealms.

Unless with what has happened in recent months at 3drealms, Scott Miller has not definitively abandoned 3dRealms. But knowing the attitude  of Scott Miller retains the obligation of secrecy on this. |
Re: Prey 2 - What's its future now that 3DR is 'practically' closed ?
according to Kristian Joensen the Prey IP was moved from 3D Realms to Radar recently!
Interesting! :) |

Re: Prey 2 - What's its future now that 3DR is 'practically' closed ?
I need to clarify, what I told JobivanHiob is that the Prey trademark has recently been transferred from 3DR to Radar Group. While Prey 2 has been under them since atleast then, the Prey trademark has belonged to 3DR still all this time. That has changed recently.

Re: Prey 2 - What's its future now that 3DR is 'practically' closed ?
and this means 3DR has probably got some money for this "transfer", right KJ? :)

Re: Prey 2 - What's its future now that 3DR is 'practically' closed ?
I don't know. It is certainly possible. It depends also on what their arrangement was on the Prey franchise/Prey 2 prior to this. It may have been anything from a deal like the the one they did with Take Two concerning the Max Payne IP to just a legal formality and anything in between.
