Well, 6th of June seems like fine day to uncover Duke Nukem Forever, but contemplating that E3 is just a mere eight days away I find it a bit strange to do so. While the servers of many video game forums would probably overload, would this news be new until E3 expo or would it be overshadowed by for example the reveal of Nintendo 3DS? Anyhow I have a good feeling about Duke Nukem Forever being shown in one way or another this year.

If you reveal yourself at E3 you are just another story among many. If you reveal yourself on any other day, you have the spotlight to yourself.

I haven't thought about the D-Day thing for a while.
Its certainly intereting that DNF would have become gold on April 1, although it wasn't planned.
This would speak for a special date for DNF going gold or being unveiled in the future.
DNF going gold in June is a little bit early I think...my "calculations" came to the conclusion that it will go gold at a later date.
But DNF being unveiled on June 6 is certainly possible.

D-Day simply means it will happen in the future. Nobody (perhaps even 3DR) knows when D-Day is. The lawsuit won't be settled until June 6.

Or D-Day simply means 3D Realms THOUGHT it was going to happen in the future ... then realized in december - january this case was getting way worse than they expected ...

D-day... I think I got it. They might be inventing the time machine, couse DNF engine is too old already. Think, they invent the time machine, then they go back in time to D-day, year 1944, and release the game. That would make DNF the best FPS for next 60 years or so :D

Nope, DNF is powered by an enhanced edition of Unreal Engine 2, which was first used for UT 2003 and Unreal II. And those games were released respectively fall 2002 and early 2003 ... this is 1.5 - 2 years before Doom 3 :censored:
But as I have already said on another topic, their improvements and the full support of DX9 put the engine around the same level as id Tech 4.

I actually like Doom 3 if that's the case, the many different opinions on Doom 3 were already discussed pages long in the Doom 4 threads haha..

I just said that a close look on that screenshot reminded me of Doom 3's graphical appearance. Which is not bad imo, because I don't give a shit about graphics. :D :D
