SW source & site

As the source is now released it's about time someone brought back a SW site. I got the SW-DOJO.com domain for two years now but the last half year it all went a bit awkward with dns servers. Anyone has some I could link the domain to? Im willing to start again and update it. Please PM me.

Re: SW source & site

I can lend you some webspace on my site. It has 50 GB bandwidth a month, and I'm not normally using that much. Your URL would be www.deviantuniverse.com/swdojo or swdojo.deviantuniverse.com .

Re: SW source & site

You could ask IGN Gamespy to ressurect Wangsdojo. It would give you a substantial amount of Shadow Warrior info to begin with.

Re: SW source & site

I can host stuff at http://shadowwarrior.ath.cx/ . I could put up a "game guide" and "cheats" and other such stuff that you could find anywhere, but I don't really care about all that. If anyone has some GOOD, USEFUL content, I'd be happy to put it up there (make a dedicated page too, at the moment it's just going to my normal page).

Re: SW source & site

But can the domain be linked to that space?

If you have a domain, you can link it anywhere. You put in a redirect script in the index of the domain, and wallah!

Re: SW source & site

Yes, I can link it to anything, without using a redirect.

Yeah, if you only own the domain and it doen't come with webspace to begin with, you can use some type of online control panel from your provider to set the domain to automatically redirect to your desired location.

Re: SW source & site

That doesn't matter at all. The point is, if someone has something useful that needs hosting, I can do it. Apache with PHP and MySQL.

Re: SW source & site

I think we should start collecting working SW fan sites and mailing the respective owners to let them know of this sudden reborn (some might not be aware), you know, just to get stuff going again.

Re: SW source & site

You should obfuscate those emails so bots don't pick 'em up. Also, the SW Central link isn't working; it should be:
http://www.tbns.net/sw-central/index2.html

You can see that pretty much all the sites have the same stuff. Walkthroughs, secrets, cheats, level/monster/item/game descriptions, shareware...

TCs and maps and anything unique are really the only things that could be of use; maybe some DETAILS on how to play the original in 3DFX mode (although that's kind of pointless now, too). Is there anything really NEEDED out there?

Probably the best bet is just to make a new thread in this forum if you have anything in particular to offer.

If you ask Mike he can host it at Polaris Map Central which has TONS of duke maps and other maps and tutorial all the latest mp3's!

You need to stop advertising your site in every post Mike http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthread...lins/smile.gif
