Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition is coming to PS Vita and PS3 soon from Devolver Digital and Abstraction Games. Not sure if they'll include multiplayer though.

I'd be very surprised if they didn't at least consider it, given that even the old Xbox got multiplayer. It would give the game at least a little shelf life in the playstation market. :)

Abstraction's ports for Vita and PS3 will include multiplayer. At least, it was planned the last time we (the EDuke32 team) talked to them.

Well...one COULD look around eBay, and buy the PS1 version of Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown, which is Duke 3D, and I think PS1 games were able to play on PS3...so there's that approach.

It is not a straight up port. There were changes, but this many years out I forget what they all are.

Looks to be cross buy with PS3 & Vita. I'm waiting to see if they'll have it cheap for Plus members at launch.


According to PlaystationTrophies.org, it'll have the same trophies as the XBLA version, except with 3 additional trophies for the addons.

Duke nukem 3d megaton edition (ps3 and vita) is basically a clone of the Duke nukem 3d xbla version, just with a bunch of changes and maps and stuff.

But it is based off of the XBLA version and using Polymost instead of the Classic renderer. His wording could be better but he's not far off.

No? I's a port of the PC release, the rewind ability was added in at the last minute. New codebase, this port is also anamorphic with proper fov advustments.

No, it is a port of the XBLA version. It is not ported from Megaton on PC at all, they only share the same brand name.

The developers have stated this on Twitter.

Yeah, PR people usually aren't too familiar with all of the tech aspects--it's not really their job, though it probably should be if they're commenting on them!

PS3/Vita Megaton is the XBLA version rebased against a git repo we provided which contained a forked version of JFBuild, similar to what the PC version of Megaton was linked against, with some of our own patches merged in to handle shading and visibility (the same sort of patches we provided for PC Megaton).

I kinda wish they had reached out to us more before release, we had more bug fixes we could have provided. :)

I haven't played the ps3 version yet don't have a ps3 yet, I would like to play it but people have been saying it really bad like online issues Is it really that bad?

can't be that bad as the Pc Port
