Dam Top fight against the Battle-Lord in DNF
 

I've tried a million times trying to kill the battlelord on the Lets Rock
Difficulty and I just can't kill him! I don't have a HoloDuke to use against him to distract him also. I have a RPG and a Shotgun, with 4 pipebombs and 4 trip lasers. Please Help!

Use the explosives, run back, grab more, run up, use the cars as temp cover, blast him with explosives, run back, grab more. When he drops to his knees bust his balls.

I killed him on Insane difficulty. Just stick to cover, blast him with explosives (preferably ALWAYS keep a Devastator in your inventory if you pick up one since ammo comes from crates).

I know what you mean though, DNF kicked my ass when I first played it.

I have to agree it was difficult for me the first time... I would consider the this to be the first "difficult" fight of the game.

The only boss that was actually challenging was the Octaking.
Killing him on Insane took a bit of effort. The Battlelord wasn't bad... basically after you've knocked off about half his health, just lure him all the way back to the very start of the dam.

This puts you right next to a pile of explosives.
You can pop out and unload the RPG on him, also... pick up the Enforcer's gun. As it's explosive multi-shot rounds hurt him.
Then just throw out pipe bombs to kick his health down. And being right there, you can grab more pipe bombs all you want.

Thanks Guys! I beat the campaign! Now to play it on Insane difficulty!

Half the time the only reason boss fights were hard is because all those octabrains kept spawning.

It's a pain on Piece of Cake! Unless I did something wrong, the only cover I had was a slim beam and prayers that the Octobrains wouldn't float around the beam and attack me while my ego recharged.

The Octaking is the most challenging boss fight in the game.
But really, it only seemed unfair on Insane.

I've never played the game on Piece of Cake, so I'm not sure. I've played on 'Let's Rock' the most. With one play through on 'Damn, I'm Good'.

Once you get the Octaking's health about halfway gone he stops bringing in Octabrains and makes it much easier to just unload on him.
And with the Octabrains... pipe bombs make quick work of them. As does the Freeze ray.

In regards to the Octaking boss fight on Damn I'm Good difficulty, the fight isn't too bad if you have a beer can and a holoduke on the side. Once the fight starts, drink a can of beer, activate a holoduke, move away from the holoduke, and fire at the Octaking until the holoduke runs out. I found that the Octabrains stop spawning once you roughly take away a third of Octaking's health. Dispatch any remaining Octabrains immediately after the holoduke has faded, and the rest of the boss fight is easy.

Towards the end of The Forkstop, there's a beer can and a holoduke in the secret Companion Barrel room.

The Octabrains are easy to deal with with a pipe bomb. You throw it, they grab it and bring it in really close before they throw it back at you.
So, throw one, let them draw it in close and then detonate it.
