Jibs question.

Is there a way to make it so jibs don't disappear when you kill an enemy? So the little bits are left on the ground instead of just disappearing in that little "droplet" animation? Even if it means I would have to make a replacement sprite for the parts on the ground, doesn't matter.

Re: Jibs question.

Yes. All of my mods make the jibs do that.

To many sprites spawned

Actually, that problem is easily avoidable, even if jibs stay on the ground.

Ah, thanks for the quick responses. But how do I do it? I've done a little bit of sprite modding, just curious if I blow up an enemy and the arm/leg jibs go flying, if they hit the ground and stay there.

This won't make any sense to you, but here's your answer. First of all, you must be using EDuke32 and edit the CONs. in EVENT_GAME, have the jibs detect whether they are close to the ground, and if they are, you change them into actors that lie on the ground. You must code the actors yourself. Look up EDuke32 and its wiki for more information, and go to Duke4.net forums.

I have been futzing around with the mod you have, DeeperThought, and it's a lot of fun. I just can't figure out how to replace the sprites with mine without messing up the entire game. It's quite frustrating! I need to do some more research on this before trying again, I guess.

As long as the sprites are replaced by others that have similar dimensions, it should not mess anything up.

I will try that, thanks. If I wanted to change any sound effects, number of jibs, strength of actors, which jibs spawn, etc, which file would I be editing? Normally I edit USER and GAME, which files is it for DUKE3DPLUS? Muchly appreciated.
