How would you like a reveal trailer to look like?
 

I was thinking of something while playing DNMP on PC, and I thought if 3D realms where to make a reveal trailer, what would it look like and how would it capture the theme of the game?

My idea was a Generic FPS Shooter playing then an explosion in the middle of the screen, Duke appears with another Pipebomb in hand, saying "Get that Cr*p Outta here!", he tosses a Pipebomb over his shoulder and walks away. It explodes causing the FPS game to fall apart. With the words Duke Nukem Forever - When its done, and finally to top it off, he throws another on top of the word "When". It explodes, revealing "Duke Nukem Forever - Its done."

Can the other FPS come strangely close to resembling Halo? Please?!?!?!

I like that, but I'll throw in another suggestion anyway.

The trailer starts as gameplay from DN3D. Enough of this to get viewers wondering what's going on, maybe 20-30s of it. The trailer then pans back to show that the DN3D game is being played by Duke Nukem, chilling out in his home. He turns to the camera and says "I've spent enough time playing with myself", gets up, walks over to a concealed panel and opens it to reveal his armoury. He picks up his trademark gun, goes to his garage, says "It's done", starts up his bike and roars off to save the world. Screen fades to black, release date appears.

Sorry to be so negative but really dont care how DNF or a trailer is revealed. It would be nice if it was a big reveal but at this stage i think both would be very low key, maybe posting it here on the website or sending a statement to shacknews or any other gaming news sites.

Low-key or not, anything DNF related, true or not, has a tendency to go viral, so it would only delay its widespread nature.

I would like the see the commercial beggining something like this.

commercial starts with a basic multiplayer session of generic shooter game ending, then the screen goes black... In a world of overrated bland first person shooters... there once was a hero that is forever... Show Duke in a nostalgic remember me manner, then end the commercial... begin grabbag oh yea by the way, its done!

do this at the Superbowl and the release date would be next week or month to really get people's attention.

"Tomorrow, for a limited time only (ten minutes), at a random GameStop in Texas -- Buy the legendary, the heralded, the belated Duke Nukem Forever!"

Then watch the chaos ensue as all the remaining Duketards fly to their cars and somehow manage to cause a fifty car pile-up somewhere on the highway.

I hope they put "When it's Done" at the end, but then it gets shot up or blown up by Duke and the release date is revealed.:cool:

This is specifically about a trailer, the other is a means of announcement that may or may not contain said trailer.

this kind of thread was made over the last years....I remember when Scott asked what we liked in the DNF 2001 trailer and we thought it was used for a new DNF trailer! That was uhmmm 2 years or so ago. :D

I hope this ist the last thread about this topic, because its about time to have a actual trailer where all this is in what we demanded. Alright George&Scott ?! ;)

Well then. There are two scenes I'd like to see in a reveal trailer. One where you see the words "PIGS ARE FLYING" followed by a pigcop being thrown in the air by an explosion. The other, which would be the final scene of the trailer, where you see the words "WHEN IT'S DONE", then Duke's RPG comes up from the bottom of the screen as if you were seeing that through Duke's eyes, a rocket is fired and the word "WHEN" is destroyed, leaving "IT'S DONE".

Just a 5-10 second long trailer with the words:

It's finnally done. *Puts release date here*

Then fades black to a little grabbag song.
