I get the joke. There are a lot of Americans and (even worse) Canadians here who don't understand satire, irony, sarcasm etc hence the reason a few guys didn't get it. That said it wasn't particularly funny. Yeah it was oK for 1/2 minutes and I chuckled, but it just went on and on and on. If something is funny for 1 minute it doesn't mean you can continue the joke for 10 minutes and still think people will be laughing at the end.
