I believe that the game did support analog sticks, but did not use them in what would be considered a conventional way. The left stick was used for moving forward and backward and turning. The right stick was used only for strafing. You had to use to L1 and L2 buttons to look up and down respectively. Auto aim was always on so that kind've helped, but there was no doubt that the game still felt awkward.
