Remember initially both the mass departures of 2006 and the lay offs last year were revealed beforehand with journalists going off sources. So we will see.

Gearbox had to put Aliens: Colonial Marines on hold to finish up Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway and Borderlands. Three projects was slowing down the development cycle of the studio.
