This is true, whether you believe me or not, it is up to you.
I haven't been on here in forever; I just feel I need to share this with you guys. I'm not saying this to piss anyone off, or give false info, or get any hopes up.
My friend's brother works as a game developer; I'm not really sure what he does to be quite honest. Today we had a party at my friend’s house, and his brother showed me what he was working on. As it turns out, it was a Duke Nukem game. Subtitled in a folder called, “DUKE N. GBOX”
I'm not positive if it was DNF, but god damn was it a Duke game.
Here is the experience:
It all started out with a cut scene, there was no audio. Though, the animation was pretty well-done. Duke came out of a big pipe that was coming out of the side of a cliff. Water was pouring out of it, and Duke jumped off of the pipe and landed in the streets of a deserted town. It was night time, and the streets were flooded. Nothing else after that, and then we got to the game play
game play:
-There were no enemies in what I played, I guess it was just a small test run of the level, I'm not sure.
-Duke had his regular get up on, red shirt, jeans, holster, and black shades, he appears older though, he is wrinkled up, and his hair is white and he has a bit of a scruffy beard.
-It was NOT in 1st person view. It was over the shoulder, ala Gears of War.
-The deeper Duke got in the water, his animations changed, it was harder for him to walk, eventually, he'd go into a swim.
-He wasn't wielding a Desert Eagle. It was more of a golden colt 45 almost. (Not saying that there is no Deagle at all)
-There was CO-OP, but the 2nd player was the SAME duke that the 1st player was. Not sure if that is how it will be in the end.
-There is a cover system, much like Gears of War.
-You can carry only 4 weapons, a pistol/machine pistol, a two handed gun, a grenade, and a melee weapon.
-No more mighty boot
(Atleast of what I’ve seen)
-Your cover will be destroyed or torn apart by incoming fire.
-There were collectables: Nude pictures, Green orbs, and cigars. Apparently they boost your ‘EGO’, which is what my friend’s brother said. Not sure what EGO means.
-You can climb into windows, and climb on ladders.
Map:
-It was extremely small. We started out just ******* around on the map, running in the water and swimming, punching one another, climbing ladders, killing ourselves, only because once you left this area, it was all black. The objective was to open up a gate. All you had to do was turn a wheel, and a big wooden door would open up.
Graphics:
Some of the textures weren't there, instead it was just purple and black boxes on the texture. And some just looked incomplete. The surroundings and Duke himself look like they came out of gears of war. Whether or not this is a bad thing is mainly up to the player. It looked nice, but I know others are looking for something more original. The water did look incredible though.
My left hand to god this is a true story, I only played for a half hour or so, I’ll answer any questions you have.
