I just finished Fatal Frame 2: Directors Cut (xbox version) and i loved that i could play it in first Person, but now. I want another horror game, i renter silent hill 2 but i was not dragged by the history/ gameplay.

Can you guys recommend me something?

Waiting for Doom 3 it's not an option since i already have it for pc.

Give me some advice about First Person Horror games for xbox please.

I don't know about X-Box, but if you never played System Shock 2 for pc you should go pick that up. The tension in that game is great. In fact, everything in that game is great. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/love.gif

I somewhat agree with you there. I get way too jumpy, but not scared.

Then you don't like terror games, you like (as someone said) "jumpy" games like the RE series.

Silent Hill 2 is the most terrifying game I ever played. And I have almost all the survival horror games out (Silent hill 1,2,3 & 4, Clock Tower 2, Fatal Frame 1 & 2, Resident Evil 1,2,3,CV,0 & 4). But almost all rely on sudden scares, not in psycologic terror.
Its a shame.

and what is a RECENT horror game, first person?
not an upcoming, but the graphics still have to be good enough to be able to scare you (no good graphics => no immersiveness => no scare)

Because lots of people say doom 3 is not scary, then I assume they have played REAL horror games.
Well doom 3 is the only one I played, so I want to play a real one too http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I prefer a horror game that is not a sequel on another story.
and the demo has to be scary too, because I'll play the demo first

Pc games only please:)

People say [Cliver Barker's] Undying is scary. It was a bit scary in the beginning. I found Doom 3 to be scarier. And I'm sure of my opinion as well, because those two are the only horror games I've played.

downloaded the demo of System shock 2.

new game, got list of controls, AND YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE CONTROLS!!! you just can't walk in this game, the key that is in normal games
"backpedal" is in SS2 "duck" http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif
and the strafe keys are keys to rotate http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif very annoying.
the 2 strafe keys and backpedal are on the bottom.

and the graphics are aged, that's why I said I prefer a game with decent graphics.

everything so far makes me think of HL: the monorail, those computer screens...

then I managed to get in the basic training room, I was told to pick up items with left mouse button, when I picked one up, the game crashed, YES!
I'm not mad because the game crashed, but ALT+TAB and CTRL+SHIFT+ESCAPE and CTRL+ALT+DEL and WIN etc... are disabled!!! they don't work!!!
I had to hit the reset button.

so does someone know a good HORROR game with decent graphics and decent controls for the PC?

If you are unable to change them ingame then go to the CFG or INI file and fix it there.

Aged graphics or not this is one of the best horror games...no best overall games ever made. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/love.gif

But I don't know why it crashed on you, that's just shitty luck keeping you from playing a great game.

you probably played the game back in 1999-2000.
that's why you don't mind the graphics.

any recenter good horror games?

Okay first, what i meant with the First person mode is the gameplay,
I love the games that are in first Person view, or at least in third person mode behind the guy, that's why i did not like the about 15 minutes i played of silent hill 2. Also i had other things to do, maybe i will give it another try.

My post was about: I loved Fatal frame 2 in First Person View, any other game that i should play that is in first person?

no, i did not play Resident Evil, i played a part of Nemesis, but i hate that the view is stuck. And every time you enter a room you have to change the direction you were pointing in the control pad.

that's all.
And yes that game based on Lovecraft seem to be promising.

Yes, I did it play back then. And I'm playing it again now but I'm using the Rebirth model pack.

Or perhaps he's simply capable of enjoying something regardless of graphics. Wait, what did I just say? Oh, the horror!

The fact that you don't like System Shock 2 proves that your gaming opinion is invalid http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

CoR and System Shock 2 own you. http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/love.gif

I tired the demo......I must say that controls seems clumsy at first.......but you'll get used to it after trainning. However, the first mission was enough for me to judge the game. The sat crasing into the windows made hair stand for awhile.....and the dark creepy atmosphere was soooofreakin disturbing that I uninstalled it never to scare me again. And this was like 2003.....4 years after its release! http://forums.3drealms.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

it sure is a scary game.

OH NO I hope no one will attack me, I can't defend myself with these crappy controls!

and Beelze, a game with no decent tech doesn't amaze me, I can enjoy the game, like I enjoyed HL1 when I played it for the first time in october 2004.
but for a scary game, decent tech/graphics is a necessity.
when I was young, wolfenstein 3d was scary, but when playing it now, it isn't, because the tech for enemies crushing through walls wasn't there.

I don't dislike the game for it's graphics, but for the fact it crashed.
crashing no big deal, but needing to hit the RESET button is too much!
there are other programs running on my account (messenger), and other user user accounts with important programs that are running! (for work or something)

I'd like to reinstall the game, but I'm afraid.
I played the game 2 minutes and it crashed already!

reinstalled the game, can't change key bindings, I wasn't even at basic training yet, game crashed again, uninstalling now, will never reinstall

I suppose you think we care? I don't. If you can't enjoy one of the greatest games out there, that's your loss.

Play "The Suffering". It has a traditional TPS view. In case you want it in a traditional FPS view, there's a nice hotkey for it in-game.

Call of C'thulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth will apparently have a sequel, Call of C'thulhu: Beyond the Mountains of Madness. More first-person horror.

I haven't had a trouble with it on a 3ghz. Are you sure you're running SS2 and not SS1?

Cerberus_e

yes, it starts in a monorail, you have to go through some sort of reverse-gravity to go on the street, and enter the basic or advanced training.
never got further because it always crashes there, or even earlier

PlayfulPuppy

That's to do with XP, not the speed of your comp.

There are ways around that, although I dont really think you'll bother pursuing them.
