Just a random note, in Interceptor's Rise of the Triad my pet peeve was the checkpoint system. They were too few and far between, for example that level with the spinning fire pillars and all the crazy deathtraps. I'd often have to redo those even when I was well past them because of the nutty sparse checkpoints, and eventually I just dropped the game.

Nobody has time to replay lots of a level and memorize it etc nowadays. Save button. It's optional, it's great. You save. It's terrific.

Or at least let the checkpoints be very frequent like in most modern games. Just throwing that out there.

The combination of far-between checkpoints, instant death traps and not so good collision detection and controls indeed made it a problem. Since it doesn't look like Bombshell will have a lot of platforming, I doubt it would be an issue anyway.
