Fernando Alonso had been doing well all weekend (P1 in practice 2 and 3), but he couldn't complete the second quali session. He apparently lost fuel pressure and had to park it on the track. You could see his frustration and it was really annoying because I think he could have been row 1 or at least row 2.

Anyway, Massa drove the crap out of this track, he's on pole almost 0.7s faster than Lewis Hamilton who seemed almost didn't make Q1 after messing up in Q2. Had Fernando Alonso's Renault not stopped, Hammy wouldn't have reach Q1.

The track is bumpy and that makes for the cars moving around a lot which looks great especially with the ambiance at night.

I hope this track will be better for overtaking than Valencia, but I fear that rain is the only thing that will make this race not be processional.

If this is the result of tomorrow's race, Massa will lead the driver's world championship.

I hope it rains, but not monsoon-levels of rain (race will most likely be suspended/delayed if so), just enough rain so it'll throw a spanner in the works for the people at the front and the guys at the back (especially Fernando Alonso :D) can challenge for the podium.

So all in all, the track looks really spectacular when the Formula One cars power around and Massa kicked all kinds of ass while Fernando Alonso's car failed him. I hope it is something they can fix without changing the engine (though, I am pretty sure Fernando still has his 'joker' engine change still, though I haven't checked this).
