Guin Saga, is the title of a best-selling heroic fantasy novel series by Japanese author Kaoru Kurimoto, in continuous publication since 1979. A record 100 volumes were originally planned, but as of 2009 the total stands at 124 volumes and is the longest continuing single-writer's work in the world with total circulation exceeding 28 million worldwide.

There's a manga spin off, if I'm not mistaken however I haven't read it.

Music is and will be by Nobou Uematsu. So that's totally awesome. I'm not thrilled at the "super punches" and I think it looks like it's aimed at a slightly younger audience than I'd like but it does look pretty good overall.

First ep is out. It was pretty interesting. I'm really not a fan of the animation style they chose. The fighting is over the top. People jump through a forest as opposed to running through it. Makes you wonder why they even bother with horses when they can jump 20 meters at a time. Music is good. The art is good but the monster designs felt dull. The characters were okay. The boy is annoying but at least the girl has some guts. Overall I say its a mediocre first ep. If the story picks up in a few episodes, it'll probably get better. But I'm worried about the animation. If it doesn't calm down a little I'll simply watch a few more episodes and drop it. Too many King Kong/Hulk style growling poses. The pace is also a bit strange. At least the battles don't drag out. Which is a bonus in my book. Some potential but I'm worried about the animation. More specifically the fighting or pursuit animations. This series would have been a lot better with a gritter atmosphere like Fire and Ice.
