I thought it was because 3D Realms didn't want Valve to know it's sales figures.

The gameplay footage is actually from the demo file that plays in 1.3D, so no, they didn't do it themselves

That's kinda weird, btw, since they're selling 1.5 which doesn't have that demo file at all

One doesn't. Even if you use eduke or xduke you'll still never find a game or enough people with the right cons/grp and ports open. It's a mess.

There are programs for such though, easier net-gaming for Duke3D...
Netduke i heard is one of those, earlier i used DukeKonnector, but appearanty this is the next version of that...

Check it out, Everyone who also downloaded this -and who is using it atm, will show online on the "server" list, and you should be able to join any of them, or start a game with a friend...

Tr YANG, it still has some people playing. It's basically shows rooms for games which you can join at will.

It supports EDuke32, original Duke in DOSBox and other BUILD games.

I still have have the key chain that came with Manhattan Project. Yep, the good ol' days when you didn't have to buy the "special edition" box to get some free swag. (The attached picture is from a Google search; my keychain is considerably more beat up and has a bunch of work keys hanging on it!)

I need to jump on the Good Ol' Games bandwagon one of these days, but I don't have much time for playing games on the PC (and probably won't for another year or two), so I'm afraid I'd buy them and then they'd just sit there.

Decisions, decision...

That's cool! I had no idea something like that came with it.. I got it quite a while after it was originally released and I didn't get any cool stuff like that.

Hey, I still have that keychain.

I'm a bit disappointed that I don't see Shadow Warrior on that list though; that's one Apogee game I don't own that I would like to have. Though, ROTT looks tempting too... and so do the PC versions of Earthworm Jim 1 and 2.

I am quite interested in GOG.com. Looks like doesnt have those bad elements associated with STEAM. Can anyone who has baught games from gog.com tell me how do you actually download the games, and in what format. I know whatever format will be, it will be DRM free, so all good, but still what files you download from gog.com once you pay for a game. Is it a CD or DVD ISO image or is it a giant executable setup or is it a series of rar or other archieves ?

I'm pretty sure the IP owners would be a better way to say it. Not all those developers exist anymore.

A good example would be for DNMP. 3DR would get a cut, but the actual developers get nothing since theyre out of business.
