Stam1na - Raja and Stam1na in general
Most of you probably haven't heard Stam1na. They are finnish thrashmetallers, simply put, but their music goes beyond basic thrashmetal, having some progressive elements in their songs. They sing in finnish, so most of the lyrics won't really open to a foreigner, although some of the lyrics have been translated by fans to english. That doesn't really matter in their, or mine, opinion, since Rammstein has also proven to be very succesfull singing in german. 1996 marked the start for Stam1na. They have since released 3 full-length LPs. First was self-titled debut album "Stam1na - Stam1na" (2005), second one "Stam1na - Uudet Kymmenen Käskyä" (2006) and the one I am focusing now "Stam1na - Raja" (2008).
Stam1na is:

Antti "Hyrde" Hyyrynen – vocals, guitar
Pekka "Pexi" Olkkonen – lead guitar
Kai-Pekka "Kaikka" Kangasmäki – bass guitar
Teppo "Kake" Velin – drums
Stam1na had arranged with our biggest rock/metal/alternative oriented radio here in Finland, Radio Rock, a full listen of their new album. With Hyrde and Pexi being there to comment the tracks before they aired them, one by one, whole album. Humour was not sparse and it was really nice to hear their own views on the songs. The album is fast, little bit darker than their previous ones, not a bad move. I will update this when my copy of the CD arrives, but by the first listen I'd say it is really good 5/5.

Hammasratas (4:08) - Cogwheel
Susi-ihminen (3:57) - Wolf-human
Muistipalapelit (5:43) - Memoryjigsaws
Vartijaton (5:12) - Without guard
Voima vastaan viha (3:36) - Strenght against anger
Lääke (4:24) - Medicine
Kädet vasten lasia (4:02) - Hands against glass
Luova hulluus (3:57) - Creative insanity
Muuri (4:24) - Wall
Murtumispiste (4:28) - Breakingpoint
Translations by me, so there is bound to be some mistakes.
Also, you can listen short clips from their new album here http://stam1na.com/ - on the right side there is a box that has a playbutton.
