Rules of Conduct on the Message Boards

You agree not to do any of the following while on our message boards:

1. Flaming - We do not tolerate abusive, malicious, personal attacks. You will be banned if you persist in this behavior.
2. Trolls/Trolling - Anyone deliberately antagonizing other forum users by posting 'flame bait' type messages is not welcome. You will be banned if you persist in this behavior.
3. Transmit any message, information, data, text, software or graphic files, or other materials ("Content") that is unlawful (including illegal drug usage), harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, hateful or racially, ethnically, sexually or otherwise objectionable.
4. Impersonate any person or entity, including but not limited to, a 3D Realms official, message board moderator, employee, contractor, affiliate.
5. Post or transmit any Content that contains a virus, Trojan horse or other mischievous Content.
6. Use The 3D Realms Message Boards' features in a manner that adversely affects the availability of its resources to other users (e.g., excessive shouting [use of all caps] or flooding [continuous posting of repetitive text or topics]).
7. Post or transmit any unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail", "spam", "chain letters", "pyramid schemes" or any other form of solicitation.
8. Intentionally or unintentionally violate any applicable local, state, national or international law, rule or regulation.
9. Upload or transmit any Content that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights ("Rights") of any party.
10. Leave your user account in a state such that it can be compromised and used to spam others on the forums, either inside or outside the actual forum structure. This is most easily done by allowing your username to be the same as your password.

Breaking any of the above Rules of Conduct will make your message board account subject to immediate banning, or your message deleted, edited or moved. Further the forum moderators may contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) depending on the severity of the offending posts.

NOTICE: By submitting (e.g., uploading) Content to the 3D Realms Message Board, you automatically grant 3D Realms the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and fully sub licensable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such Content (in whole or part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed.

When signing up for a new user account, do not create these types of user names - they will be removed.

1. Obscene user names
2. User names in all capital letters
3. User names that have TeXt ThAt LoOkS lIkE ThIs! (Ex: D0nk3yK0ng)
4. Hi-bit ASCII characters (ex: é ä ó). The reason is that these tend to cause problems with the search engine.
5. User names that are the same (or are some spelling variant) of one of our game characters.
6. User names that are advertising for other websites or products.
7. A user name that 3DR deems "unacceptable" (Generally vulgar, but not always).
8. A user account whose login name is the same as the password. This is a major no-no!

Please also note that your email associated with the forums may be used to send out 3D Realms related promotional emails from time to time. If this bothers you, then do not sign up for the forums.
