DNF references in Starcraft II
If you click on Odin long enough you get to hear something about chewing bubblegum and shock and awe.
So even the guys at Blizzard are waiting for Duke's return ;) |
Re: DNF references in Starcraft II

and deep down inside everyone waits for Duke's return! |

haha ha
One of the Kotaku Stores http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets...smorganiii.png I guess we should not be making fun of them , they're still trying hard to make it. |
Re: DNF references in Starcraft II
Shock and awe is NOT a reference to DNF. Chewing bubblegum is a reference to Duke3D.

It was also mentioned by Bush in 2003 when he started the Iraq War.
|
Re: DNF references in Starcraft II
Shock and Awe will eventually become a word for future failure but the person who hath speaketh it has no clue.

Like I said Apples in Texas even don't fall far from the tree.

Re: DNF references in Starcraft II
Jesus Christ people... Stop it with the references.
Oh no... Theres a smudge on my laptop screen that looks like the cigar duke smokes in that trailer, it must be a sign. |
Re: DNF references in Starcraft II
OMG... I was watching Mythbusters and there was a reference to Duke Nukem. It must be a sign
|
Re: DNF references in Starcraft II
Nobody said that a Duke Nukem reference in StarCraft II was a sign of the release of DNF.
I know some people on these forums see signs everywhere but stop being paranoïac. :D This thread was only aiming at fun, not at speculation. (or I really didn't understand its purpose at all ... :censored:) |

Re: DNF references in Starcraft II
MythBusters should do a whole episode of Duke Nukem Forever to find out if it is a myth or not.

I took a dump this morning. It was obviously a reference to Duke looking for an alien toilet to park his bricks. |

Siegler? It wasn't Siegler! It was Miller! :)

But the fact remains this is no reason for speculation, just a hint to a funny easteregg in another video game. and since DN3D was full of remakrs to other games or movies why don't enjoy other games doing the same. |

Any of us mods close, lock, or delete a thread... there's a hidden meaning. And people wonder why I hate the DNF forums. |
Re: DNF references in Starcraft II
Shock and Awe is what the government was calling the bombing campaign in the beginning of the Iraq invasion. Since the Odin is a vehicle of mass destruction I'm sure that's what the reference is about.

And yes, we don't get paid for it. And Joe did gives us complete control over how we do things. But, as fans of 3DRealms, we do our best to maintain the style of moderating Joe had in place while he worked for 3DR. |

Re: DNF references in Starcraft II
The chewing bubblegum lines is probably more of a reference to They Live, rather than Duke3D.

Re: DNF references in Starcraft II
Actually, I believe the Void Rays, if you click them long enough, will say something along the long "Always bet en Void".
Dunno if the "Always bet on Duke" line is from another game, show or whatev, but if it is this might not be Duke specific either. |
Re: DNF references in Starcraft II
I believe the George B, if you click him long enough, will still say "When it's done".
|
Re: DNF references in Starcraft II
I believe Duke, if you wait on him long enough, will come out with another game......
er......or maybe not |
