DNF references in Starcraft II
If you click on Odin long enough you get to hear something about chewing bubblegum and shock and awe.
So even the guys at Blizzard are waiting for Duke's return

Shock and awe is NOT a reference to DNF. Chewing bubblegum is a reference to Duke3D.

Shock and Awe was mentioned by Siegler (I think) about an upcoming Duke-related announcement.

Nobody said that a Duke Nukem reference in StarCraft II was a sign of the release of DNF.
I know some people on these forums see signs everywhere but stop being paranoďac.
This thread was only aiming at fun, not at speculation. (or I really didn't understand its purpose at all ... )

The Mythbusters sneak in to your house at night, and develop DNF on your laptop?

Yeah, but that doesn't make the statement an exclusive references to DNF. It's been used by a LOT of people when talking about a LOT of things.

Oh, Damien....Damien, Damien, Damien. Haven't you learned by now? EVERYthing and ANYthing means DNF.

I took a dump this morning. It was obviously a reference to Duke looking for an alien toilet to park his bricks.

What's to say the bubblegum reference isn't to "They Live". Which, I believe, was where 3drealms stole the quote from anyway.

Nex.

Well given the fact that the shock and awe remark follows directly to the bubblegum sentence so it's not too far fetched to link it to DNF.
But the fact remains this is no reason for speculation, just a hint to a funny easteregg in another video game.
and since DN3D was full of remakrs to other games or movies why don't enjoy other games doing the same.

Yeah, I know. You say the word "forever" somewhere around here and it's some secret message..
Any of us mods close, lock, or delete a thread... there's a hidden meaning. And people wonder why I hate the DNF forums.

Shock and Awe is what the government was calling the bombing campaign in the beginning of the Iraq invasion. Since the Odin is a vehicle of mass destruction I'm sure that's what the reference is about.

Only Joe can place people in Tachy, besides it requires a complete data rebuild of the forums and is a LOT of work. It's not worth the effort.

And yes, we don't get paid for it. And Joe did gives us complete control over how we do things. But, as fans of 3DRealms, we do our best to maintain the style of moderating Joe had in place while he worked for 3DR.

Actually, I believe the Void Rays, if you click them long enough, will say something along the long "Always bet en Void".

Dunno if the "Always bet on Duke" line is from another game, show or whatev, but if it is this might not be Duke specific either.
