Re: Max Payne 3
Im going to die. From a pic I don't see any differences between MP3 and GTA IV wallpapers...Max Payne on a GTA IV engine? Damn it..
|
Re: Max Payne 3
Wow, they've really taken aging Max to the next level
|
Re: Max Payne 3
Can't wait. \o/
|
Re: Max Payne 3
Wow, this is, cool news...
I hope they don't screw up :D |
Re: Max Payne 3
That better not be Max.
|
Re: Max Payne 3
ohhhh hells yeah!
|
Re: Max Payne 3
Kinda looks like 24's Tony Almeida with a beard.
|
Re: Max Payne 3

Re: Max Payne 3
Seems like my GTA-Payne sarcasm becomes a reality.

Yes this is he .. John Mirror this is John Mirror. Welcome to the next level. This is one of the greatest news I've heard in these last days. |
Re: Max Payne 3
It was time.
|
Re: Max Payne 3
The press release mentions a new direction. No more noir? If so, that'll be a mistake.
|
Re: Max Payne 3
Looking forward to it!
|
Re: Max Payne 3
Its max with a serious dose of consolites and blockbuster air :)
Let us hope its not all guns and no story... |
Re: Max Payne 3
The pic actually looks as though it could be Max Payne from the 2nd game plus a few years....unlike the rather unsettling jump between game 1 and 2 where the two Max's bore no resemblance....
I wonder who the real-life model is this time?? Oh, and the fact that the preliminary-teaser-single-faceshot-artwork looks as though it's from GTA means absolutely nothing. I love it how people jump to conclusions that it's now "GTA-Engine Max"- seriously. You gotta remember that it's Rockstar themselves making the game this time around, so you think they might actually use their own concept artists for the promo work?? Not to say it ISN'T using the RAGE engine(as it probably is), but there's really no concrete evidence one way or another....and if it is, I'm sure the gameplay mechanics will NOT reek of Max-Payne-on-a-GTA-Engine; every individual RAGE engine game so far has had a unique feel that suited the game it was being used for. I'm not worried. :) |
Re: Max Payne 3
I actually like the look of Max (assuming that is him) and description of him from the press release. I hope they haven't ditched the noir and story telling style though.

Re: Max Payne 3
Great news.

But still, it will be interesting to see what direction Rockstar Vancouver will take with the series; I can't wait to see more. :) |
Re: Max Payne 3
This is good news I guess, but I fear this won't be good like the Remedy MP titles. Let's hope I'm wrong, though. I also hope that shitty artwork is preliminary and not an indicative of how the rest of the direction will be...I mean, you can open photoshop and immediately find the brushes they used for his facial hair. Not to mention his forehead is smudge-tool-land. Looks a tad amateur to me.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooo o
They're going to rape the only masterpiece that came out of Finland in the past decade :( |
Re: Max Payne 3
All of this reminded me of something I did over 5 years ago. I think it was Jokke_r that did the skin of Max in the background and I did the boxart.

Re: Max Payne 3
I'm not sure about the new look, he isn't constipated enough for my liking.
|
Re: Max Payne 3
Anyone else getting a bit of Sean Connery wibe from the Max image?
|
Re: Max Payne 3
Damnit, I'm at school and I can't see the pics!
EDIT: Wow, they gave Max Payne the Sam Fisher Treatment. |
Re: Max Payne 3
Nice logo and art.
See, put some red splats on it, and it's cool. Never fails. :p |
Re: Max Payne 3
Sorry but this Max Payne sucks! Yeah i dont know the game blablablabla, he looks shit.
MP2 wasnt that cool like mp1 (no revenge feeling, romanceshit like hollywood etc.), but i dont think mp3 will be better. MP1 is my hero! |

I'm still a bit excited over this but I can't help but think this game isn't going to be that good. They'll probably f*ck up the story/style of the games. |
Re: Max Payne 3
Yeah, "probably". We know nothing about the game other than its a new setting and Max is old. The rest is just marketing puff that could come from a press release for any game, and the concept art is exactly that, just a concept. It's way too early to be jumping to conclusions regarding quality.

Really really, not looking foward to this but I'll wait for more info. Right now Rockstar has a ton to prove to me. |
Re: Max Payne 3
Doesn't look like Max. If it doesn't have the film noir feel, graphic novel panels, and James McCaffrey doing the voice, I have little hope for it. Even the "Max Payne" text looks off.
|
Re: Max Payne 3
Holyc***!!!holyc***!!!holyc***!!! :D
EDIT: I hope that they won't screw the PC version of this game up like they did it on GTA IV... |

Re: Max Payne 3
Having only completed both games recently, I have zero confidence in anyone other than Remedy being able to pull off the same experience - a serious amount of detail went into those games. :insomnia:
