Fond Memories 1996
I used to play with my IT support buddies after work on our local network, what fun that was back in the day. After graduating to XBOX Live a couple of years ago, I was pleasently suprised to find DUKE on Arcade.
Amazingly, I was still able to remember a lot of the map space even after all that time. Anyone remember "BLOOD" Same time frame, may even have been the same engine ? Ahh the good old days, Hail To The King Baby! |

Re: Fond Memories 1996
Yes Blood used the build engine with modifications to it, sadly the company behind Blood were not as forthcoming as 3DR and didn't release the source code as many people would have liked.

Re: Fond Memories 1996
I'd love to see the Blood games on XBLA, as well as other Build games.

Re: Fond Memories 1996
Yeah but that's up to the company that now owns Blood. Plus I wish 3d realms still existed, Joe doesn't realise what money he lost over the fact they didn't make an episode DLC or extra map pack DLC. Duke Nukem's maps have gotten really stale for me now, where the hell are the maps the PC had.. it would have cost them next to nothing to port these and make a DLC on the XBLA market place.

Re: Fond Memories 1996
I had to get it once I saw it on Arcade. I have a copy of Total Meltdown for PS but it was cool to play the Atomic Levels too.

Joe had no control over such things, when he worked for 3DR. That wasnt his call

Re: Fond Memories 1996
On top of the above statement the expansion packs were not made by 3DR so there is a little more tape you'd have to go through to put it up. Plus they'd probably have to share the costs.
Than you have to consider that adding this content for the game may not be easy as it has to be programmed in which then goes into the category of hiring people to do it and paying them for their time. It all starts to add up. |

Re: Fond Memories 1996
Now if they could find a way to add those Carribean and DC ones to XBOXLive. And Update or Add-On....probably both.
