Except that the unlock will take forever and Steam will probably crash . Nothing against
Steam, just that on other major releases it shit the bed.

I live in the pirate country... May God Have Mercy on Their Souls if they don't release the game the same date worldwide... The wait for me could be from 1 week to a month in a stupid line... But i hope 3drealms/the publisher is smart.....

Anyway. tbh i look like a viking (2 meters tall, muscle almost like arnold). I would dress up like duke. Be first in line to kick the door in to the store and put my credit card down their throat and say a epic duke line while doing it.

there is an 95% chance I will pre-order it so I wont have to wait in a line outside the store. just stroll in, and get my copy. (oh crap... I forgot about the customer service line where pre-orders are picked up. >.<)

I've been waiting more than a decade for this game, I don't think standing in a line to get it the second it hits the shelves is gonna make the wait any shorter. Relatively speaking.

It will take a few years at first but then steam will need a new engine and the download will start over.

I plan to order online myself, CE if ones available

NOT critical thinking but critical BUGDETING. I will not waste money, even if I have it saved for it, on something that may flop. Thank the current economy for that.

Either way, until the evidence is there, I'm not going to get over exasperated over something that over a decade to get done..........I'm stoping before I truely rant. Needless to say they were better off doing what Valve did with HL2: They said NOTHING about it, if at all, until it acutally was close to an ACTUAL release date. It shocked everybody when it did come out and look how it's STILL doing. That is time and effort well spent. SO, the longer we wait the higher the expectations, I would say.

Nah! I only lined up outside the store once for something and felt like a cliche geek. That was when I went to pick up my PS3 on launch night. You know, in my experience, i've even found that pre-ordering is a waste of time too (unless there's some exclusive bonus extras thrown in). I'll just walk in on my way home from work or uni.

Re: How many of you are going to wait outside for the doors to open?
No I wouldn't wait outside. The restraining order taught me that that was a bad thing!!! Other reasons are my PC will likely be due for an upgrade then. And it will take time to put together a good graphics cruncher. Of course, thats presuming it needs it. Maybe its engine won't be that leading edge.

But I'm still looking forward to it.

Re: How many of you are going to wait outside for the doors to open?
hahahahah, i just thought of something really dorky. I might get a job at EB Games and work on the launch night. I'll fill the front window full of monitors and i'll be sitting behind them playing DNF. You can expect me to do this for a couple of hours. When the door finally open, in my deepest and meatiest voice, i'll envite you all to "COME GET SOME!"

Sad? Yes. Now that I think of it, it's probably not such a good idea as i'll probably have to keep that job for another ten fricken years before it actually happens

This is why I don't ask to see Joe's work desktop, or ask what's installed on his PC anymore. He always has something DNF related on the desktop... just to rub it in.

But yes, I'll definitely pre-order it. Hopefully a collector's edition, if not... I'll pre-order whatever damn version I can get.

I think the packaging needs to be a homage to the 1990s where we get it in those old-school large boxes that we used to get. I can't express enough how much I miss those. Why the industry settled for the smaller boxes I will never know.

The oversaturated market called for more efficient use of shelf space.

Re: How many of you are going to wait outside for the doors to open?
it used to be I'd wait outside, but my enthusiasm has died down in the last couple of years. This time around, I'll wait to see if it fizzles like Prey after a month or two, or if it becomes cheaper, or when my curiousity peaks at the same time my wallet allows.

It seems primarily a single player game, and multiplayer is more of a LAN affair.
