parkar, you could make a list of new stuff (included in hrp_readme.txt) for every HRP update. also, could you add me to the credits (my skin for hanglight is in HRP)

Keeping track of that would be to much work I am afraid unless I find (or make) a good tool that can comapre to zipfiles or folders and tell me what files are new.

I'll add you to the credits. if anyone else is mssing let me know.

does anyone know what happned to my high res shell textures? they were done and perfect. did they got lost or something? i did loose em myself though so if someone could re-post them i`d be verry thankfull

Those are the exact ones thats in but slightly smaller in size since they are never that close to the screen. They are in the projectile folder. Just double checked in my test install and they are there.

they dont show up at all, they are also not present in any of the folders, or i must be loosing it.
[edit] thats odd, i have no projectiles folder whatsoever, only folder i have are "fonts" "items" "monsters" "props" "skybox" "textures"

thats it.

i downloaded the latest pack just now, and installed it.

This is spooking me out. they are in my version wich I installed using the installer thats up. Realy hope there is not an old version floating around.

jimbob, were did you get it so I can check out what is wrong, my guess is that one or more of the mirrored files is an old version.

wel, aparently the install doesnt actually install the tiles, just put a huge .zip file in the duke3d directory

if i extract that it should have the correct files and stuff.

phu, was a bit scared there at first.

yea you it will use the extracted stuff first so if you have the old pack extracted and install in the same place you need remove the old highres folder and extract the new one.

edit: You can't just extract and over write or you will end up with duplicates. You NEED to REMOVE the old files. This will nott be an issue in the future since any art that replaces the same things wil over write the old file from now on.

wel, everything works now, the fists when shrunk look a bit off though, like his pinky is way too much outwards compared to his index finger.

The switch with red light along the bottom, a green light along the right side, and a lever that makes a quarter circle down in the left upper corner, isn't there a model version of that? I through I remembered the former pack had a hi-res/model version of it, but this one has a lowres one!?!?

Also, the nuke alongside the save screen switches to the middle of the screen once you click enter and you can start typing. Anyone know what this is?

Please tell whats missing and what is out of date.

Havent been removing anything except stuff I thought sucked or was not working the correct way. I started from the old pack added all textures/models as they have apeard on the board. Also fixed the stuff people told me about in the old one. I can't see how things could just disapear.

It's supposed to do that you mean. It just stands there dead center of my monitor.

Like I said, I'm not certain, but wasn't that switch with the lever in the left corner making a quarter circle when used, hires/model before? It isn't now for sure.

Ah, I see what you mean now. It appears to be out of position from where it should be - it still moves when you type though, just in the wrong place.

It moves? Wow, hadn't noticed that, but it's in a very wrong place indeed. Something to solve.

This is my fault, the 353 and 355 are washed out I noticed. I guess I got too agressive with the color reduction. Here are better looking versions:

Thanks a lot for the new pack. I love all the new models and textures. This is great. It's even to the point where my PIII 1 GHz stutters playing the game. This is some high-res stuff.

I did notice something weird, though. When dead, the assault commander always faces the player, much like a sprite only showing one side of itself. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the model definition in the pack, the model itself, or the actual game code, but I figured I'd post it here first. Does anyone else notice this?

Its in the game code. It was solved in last version with a hacked game.con file but we removed it this time to avoid problems playing dukematch. It will probably return when jfduke has a way to send the con files from the master and use these on the clients so they always match. Until this feture is implemented it will probably not be in the pack.

The hacked game.con file can be found in a thread around here. I'll dig it out and attach it unless someone else beats me to it.

For some strange reason, the gun turret isn't showing up. The model and it's skin is found and loaded properly (I checked consolelog.txt and it had nothing about any missing files). Included a screenshot of the problem: that blast is coming from something (marked by that red circle), but for some reason it can't be seen.

I remember a guy that did one of those fancy wall switches that has all these bending pipes connected to a box, with a button on it.

Like on RawMeat, going from the kitchen area of the restaurant down the stairs, and then to the right...the button to open that door that leads out to the big pool of water.

Somebody did a 3D version of that switch, or a very similar switch, and it looked quite good, but some people complained to him that it had too many polygons or something.

Hmm, with me it's running faster and smoother now than with the previous pack, and I don't think JFDuke himself has that big a change, so it should be the compression and the use of jpgs. Is it possible to get a speed up on fast enough computers, and a slow down on lower ends because of it?

So... does anyone have this texture? I've checked through the "Enhancing..." thread several times already but can't find it.

The vast majority, if not all, PCs will stutter whilst playing the Pack, as there is little in the way of caching for textures and models. Therefore when the player first comes across a model/texture the game has to load in there and then, causing a momentary pause. This is easily notable when first selecting the devistator, and when you first fire the rockets from it.

same issue here, except here it's when it has been flipped upside down it aligns too high, and sometimes the model ends up in a ceiling or something

The gunturrets has been so for quite some time. From what I remember only JonoF changing the port itself can make this right, am I right?

Okay, I found a few map hack problems that weren't in there before. In ep 4-3, shop-n-bag, in the security office, there's a duke screen on a computer, when you click Duke says something like, "Get back to work, you lazy maggots." Once clicked the switch/texture makes a square indentation.

The same happened in Ep 3-1 clicking the "exotic" poster going down for the secret of the shrinker. Last time I played not anymore though (which is rreally weird, suggesting it happens only just once). This one however I thought we should just keep that way. It looks like a switch hidden behind a poster and the post just got frumpled when you felt around and switched it, which actually looked pretty real/cool.
