Re: FINALLY - Late Goodbye Sheet Music for Piano
If it just won't open them - then I have no idea why the hell that would happen, but if it seems to open them but doesn't actually output any sound, it could be that the midi mapper is set to something weird that just won't allow you to play midi sounds through the controller.

Go to Control Panel - then to sounds and audio devices and set the midi mapper to the Microsoft Synthesizer (piece of shit).... then try playing the midi files.

Give me another message if that doesn't help or PM me.

omg, i play piano as a hobby.. i'm an drummer but can also play some bass and guitar and some piano.. i'm most into straight songs.. im not that good with different scales and such like concert pieces.. But i listned it through, and i must say im very impressed!
i could take the midi files and convert it to mp3 with real sounds of orchestra like..
if i get the rights from you to do it anyway.. if i make it, i would upload it to some other site for fast transfer speed and not split it into parts.

Feel free to email me (or add it at msn, it is my msn adress..)
[email protected] (i know the mail is lame but i got it 6 years ago or something :P)

Re: FINALLY - Late Goodbye Sheet Music for Piano
Actually I might be able to do it myself at home - I have the Garritan Personal Orchestra Pack which cost me a couple of hundred... but I could render it pretty well on that... I'll give it a try. I actually performed the Max Payne Theme on my piano at home....

If you want to check it out - it's here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DmWpZ1JgeI

Beware - it has a couple of mistakes in it... i will practice it and perform it properly soon. I'm also in the middle of trying to write out the whole Grabbag Theme for the Piano...

Piano Man: Great job on the piano! It's so cool seeing the Max Payne theme song played live on a real piano! You played it very well, the timing and pacing all sound very correct, which just the right emphasis on the various notes. Bravo!

You mentioned there being a couple of mistakes. Did you mean there were mistakes only on the earlier version of the video you had uploaded at first, were those mistakes corrected in a new performance of the song which you then uploaded, or did you mean you uploaded a higher quality video of the same performance of the song (which still has a couple mistakes in it)?

Re: FINALLY - Late Goodbye Sheet Music for Piano
No - original video that was uploaded a few months back had quite a few wrong notes... Didn't bother to practice... and it was shot from my mobile phone...

The NEW video up for the last two weeks was a proper digital video recorder and was a better performance of the Max Payne Theme - this time... with NO wrong notes.

I've been playing guitar for eight years.
Hi all, I am 25 years old and I've been playing guitar for eight years. Recently I started giving lessons to beginner players, for about $10-15 a lesson. Once I started this however, my friends wanted in, and now they keep asking me for lessons. On the one hand I want to help them, but on the other hand, I'm doing valuable work for them and they don't ever want to pay.

This is on my YouTube favourites, you did an amazing job with the theme. Got the sheet music in storage in case I ever have a chance to learn it on a piano, heh.

Thanks... will be practicing my Pirates of the Caribbean Piano Arrangement soon and the Duke Nukem Theme arrangement for Piano.

I figure that there were plenty of guitar arrangement for the Duke Theme... but I wanted to challenge myself and see if it was possible to do a GOOD arrangement for the Grabbag. Tell me what you think - it's right here...

Piano Man, that is just brilliant. I play piano myself as well and have been in search of this sheet for ages.
I hope you realise how big favour you've made for me and other fans. Appreciation!

The topic name says Late Goodbye -sheet music for piano, but in that Youtube performance of yours it's the original Max Payne -theme.
Which of the files should I download to get the theme you played on the video?
If I'm not mistaken there's another thread about Max Payne theme, right?

EDIT: I've found the answer to my questions, a thousand thanks for the sheets!

hey, great work on both themes!! i love the "late goodbye" theme, i found it in (surprise surprise) max payne 2. i was just wondering, for the amateur piano player, if there was an easier version out there? i haven't played in a long while and this stuff is a little too advanced for me just yet, just wondering if anyone knew of anything.

songs are great though!! keep it up!

Sorry Indefatigable... (love the nickname)

Don't know of a simpler version, but I could try and arrange one for everyone who wants it.

I may have arranged it a tad too hard for everybody, but thats only because I love to write the music in a way so that it still sounds 'true' and 'authentic' to the instrumental version.

Unhappy Re: FINALLY - Late Goodbye Sheet Music for Piano
Hi, Piano Man! You're just brilliant! I was so happy to find this sheet music, I'd been looking for it for such a long time! And I already have played it for 300000 times. But you know, Poets of the Fall has a full-lentgh instrumental (piano version of "Late Goodbye" and I absolutely love it! It's a bit different from the original one and I just desperately want to play it, but can't find any sheet music... I guess it doesn't exist But it's so lovely! I know you're busy, but couldn't you just try to transcribe it? I beg you!
Or does anyone know where I can find the sheet music?

If you can find me the recording or a video of a piano cover (a legitimate piano cover) that isn't done by a 12 year old in his mothers basement... I'll see what I can do.

Re: FINALLY - Late Goodbye Sheet Music for Piano
OH MY GOD... Why didn't I know about a Piano Solo version of the Late Goodbye????

WHERE THE HELL HAVE I BEEN???? Thanks Claretorano... I'd already done the last 30 seconds, as it was used in the Max Payne 2 Game and some people wanted to play it, so that part I've already writtin out. Now I just need to do the rest. I may not be able to do it till the Christmas Holidays since I've just started at work again... But I will do it in the Christmas Holidays for sure.

Piano Man

(Glad you liked it Yatta - check your e-mail).

Shhhh.... maybe no one else noticed it...

Considering I didn't bother practicing it - I figured it's good enough... I mean do you go to a concert and boo the pianist because he played a single wrong note???

Re: FINALLY - Late Goodbye Sheet Music for Piano
Actually - upon listening to the piece again - I think it's actually a piano version for four hands - because there are parts in the 2nd verse and chorus where there sound like way too many notes for a standard pianist to play this thing with their own two hands. I think the accompaniment was written for 2 hands like normal and someone wrote the them above it as well.

Oooops... too late.

Just recorded it a week ago.

Check it out. It's the best quality I can get and I ain't re-recording it. This video is the 3rd time I've recorded it... and the only reason I ain't re-recording is because I am happy with the sound and video quality.

Re: FINALLY - Late Goodbye Sheet Music for Piano
Thank you...

I figured it was about bloody time I put up a decent quality video of the Theme...

I remember the first one I took - which was recorded with my old mobile phone, then the 2nd was encoded badly, but looked better than the first.
