Yeah, there's no way he'd be able to keep them. If he could, he might show them to everyone all over the internet. But he still knows what they look like.

We're strangers. We're fans, but we're not close to anyone at 3DR. Just because he showed some of their stuff to someone and not us doesn't mean 3DR disrespects its fans.

Well I wouldn't go that far, but I agree, a screenshot says more then a thousand words. You can sum up all the featurse but you need a visual to actually, well, see it. It's not that I'm saying he doesn't care (i already said this in two other threads, but they got locked/deleted), but it just seems a tad unfair towards the huge fanbase that has been waiting for years.

Jealous obviously that this guy got to see them and we didn't but what excites me is that he really had something to say about it. After seeing PC gamers blurb about it and them saying it was looking very good indeed or whatever it was I felt they seemed a bit underwhelmed.

I think this just shows that George is as anxious to show their work on DNF as we are to see it. But after 2001 when people promised not to bother them if they showed us something and then after they showed us, people kept nagging for more and only got worse, they smartened up and stopped showing anything. A smart move and people on here can only blame themselves.

It has to take alot of control to hold back showing anything. He slipped up and showed someone and now he will have to pay.

Have you looked at some of Mr Sleepy's other posts at Shacknews?
He seems to suffer from a literary version of Gilles de la Tourette syndrom.
Also, since he apparantly has some form of attachment to 3DR/George Broussard (as a fellow "Shacker" at least), I wouldn't consider him the most objective source available.
The commentary itself is highly undescriptive as well, with the "how am I supposed to describe what a gun looks like?" taking the cake.

Well in his defense, DNF media is known to cause sensory overloads. We're usually left catching details days after first(and continuously since) viewing a screenshot. There have been threads here in '99 that proved just that. And don't even get me started on the videos.

Yes it does; this guy likes to type in hyperbole, which means that pretty much everything he writes is exaggerated.
For example, "cool" becomes "awesome" and "unimpressive" becomes "shit".
If someone like that is raving over something, it doesn't mean you or I would necessarily be as enthusiastic.
Of course, personal taste factors in as well, so I'd say the proof of the pudding is still very much in the eating.

He didn't say that he waited; but then again; in some way we are all "waiting" for screenshots. More accuratly, we're waiting for the game, and screenshots are just something that will come before the release, so next to being a fan and talking about DNF on the forums we *are* waiting for some media.

Also, I wouldn't call being/waiting here for six years impatient, anyone who comes here and demands media or is very impatient would leave after a couple of weeks. I'd say most people here are very patient, but they are waiting/expecting stuff to be released in the future.

What I mean is he gushed about it. Awesome this awesome that, pretty ***** superior, looked like they were photoshoped. He didn't go into boring technical detail that no one except industry freaks understands or cares about. He just sounded excited and impressed by it. Maybe he was limited though by what he could say.

Yes the gun consisted of 100 million billion polygoogles and was bumpydoodlemapped with per pixelly lighting and blah blah snore blah... NO NO NO!
