Let's make a small assumption that Miramax would target this movie for a main stream viewer, who isn't a Max Payne fan or a person with movies as a hobby, but a person who watches one or two movies in the theaters in a month. I can bet that about 9 out of 10 of these main stream viewers wouldn't recall Bruce Campbell's name at all, because Mr. Campbell isn't a celebrity like Mr. Wahlberg is. He had a few movies in the eighties and early nineties, but after that there hasn't been really anything besides different tv series. So in other words he is unknown in the eyes of the audience. Re: Max Payne the movie - Rated R
Ok, what if the Max Payne movie doesn't come out till 2007? By then the phenomenon would be over and no one would want to see it.
And I should play Max because I've been in two movies before (THE WRITING ON THE WALL and WARNING SIGN), I'm the right age, have the right looks, and am a tarthead.

Re: Max Payne the movie - Rated R
Oh my god. Edward Norton would be perfect. Take a look at his facial expressions in the middle/end Fight Club. They're dark and moody. Perfect for Max Payne. He has the facial features too.
Also, John Woo hands down. Hell, the game takes off his style of directing. Who else to capture the essence of the game than the man himself? |

Yes, you certainly are a tarthead. um, never mind.
Funny, although I loved fight club and edward norton was really great in it. I don't see him as the part of max payne. Maybe Christian Slater(spelling?), or maybe just an unknown actor? |

Re: Max Payne the movie - Rated R
Uh, El Mariachi, Max Payne isn't really a big beefed up guy. Thats why Edward Norton and Brad Pitt would be good for the parts. They look like him. I choose Brad Pitt, his look in seven reminded me a lot of max payne.

Re: Max Payne the movie - Rated R
Sorry I'm a tad bit late. But I have somehow acquired a life. Damn it's weird. I now leave my room. But there is always a special place in my heart for this forum. Yeah right.
Ok, here is my suggestion. Edward Norton play Max. Quentin Tarintino directs. Robert Towne in conjuntion with Sami Jarvi write, and I don't know much about producers but I think Mel Brooks could do it. I mean Edward Norton is a very versitile actor. Quentin Tarintino is a directing genius and he is the one that brought John Woo to the United States. He was the one that prodded the CEO or President or some other high position of Universal to allow him to direct. |

Re: Max Payne the movie - Rated R
Exactly nate. That movie was so good. I am wearing a Reservoir Dogs shirt right now actually. That is what sparked that in my mind. Pulp Fiction was very very very cool. One of my faves. Jackie Brown was pretty OK.
He is cool. And Edward Norton still gets my vote for Max Payne. |

Re: Max Payne the movie - Rated R
FFS! Who's on crack?!!!
Reservoir Dogs is my favourite film - see my quote! but it is NOT an action movie. To see an action watch Desperado or From Dusk Till Dawn (my second favourite movie). Or watch John Woo movies. Those are action movies!!!!!!!!!!! Watch Jerry Bruckhiemer and Don Simpson films, watch James Cameron films... but NOT Quentin Tarantino movies!!!! They may have slight momments of action in them (Mr White firing his Berattas in Dogs, Mr Pink's get away).. but to call them ACTION MOVIES is a misinterpretation of their genre! jesus. Dog's is a heist film, without the heist, just the build-up and aftermath. Pulp is a work of pulp fiction and small time gangstas. Jackie's a re-working of the Blaxploitation genre and more drama and superior dialogue than action!! But what they are not and can not be classified are ALL OUT ACTION FLICKS! FFS!!! !!!! ARGHGHGGHGHGH!!!!! *takes a deep breath after the shock of people claiming Quentin Tarantino is a director of action movies.. * |

LOL. Whoever stacks the shelves in your video store should be fired.
Just because i might find the Teletubbies *mistakingly* put in the HORROR section doesn't mean it's a horror movie. So you see my point. |

Come on, guys, what about Ray Liotta playing Max? Let's hear some opinions
on that. Good actor, right kind of look, believeable as a tough guy. I think he'd do well.

I too think it should be animated like the Final Fantasy movie. CGI has really come along way. Go see Shrek and you will see what I am talking about.
