Re: HRP Update Pack
That is a clipping problem. I think it has been there. Pretty much all the character models clip.

Re: HRP Update Pack
It wasn't there for sure!!! Probably it happened while the model was rescaled. It may be zadd issue.

Re: HRP Update Pack
Sorry to say this, but this is completely 100% fact, history, whatever you want to call it, as I even been publishing his site as the best EDuke32 modifications directory, it's the most visited directory, the friggin' top, it SHOULD be treated as it

There are special hardcoded issues concerning the height of the player sprite. For example, when the player crouches, the z coordinate of the player literally changes to make him move downward. But, if you look at the player sprite, it does not actually appear to move down. That is because the game is hardcoded to display the sprite as higher than it actually is when the player is crouching. It is for this reason that the def for the player model has a zadd for certain animations (such as crouching) so that the model doesn't appear to be going into the ground. If the defs for the player model have been changed (for example, if the scale of the model has been changed, which I understand that it has in the recent HRP update) then this could cause problems like the one pictured.

Re: HRP Update Pack
That makes sense. Why can't we just get Full Body Awareness in the game? That would make everything so much easier

Re: HRP Update Pack
Well at least I can tell ya I don't think my minimal skin resizing measures caused this issue, I am sure it was there before. And what I did was make the model SMALLER, not larger.
Thanks... but Parkar's and Yatta's site are important, too. In fact, I'd rather wish you would say that about their sites, not mine.

Re: HRP Update Pack
Yatta's site? What's the site adress?
EDIT: Oh, Duke4.net. The reason some of us think your site is the best HRP site is because your site has the most HRP stuff. No other site has the HRP Update Pack, Maphack Updates, HRP Music Pack, DukDC HRP, NW HRP, SD_Duke, and XXX_Pack.

Long live the music pack!
(and hopefully it gets a new snapshot soon) (and hopefully the XXX Pack gets updated so I can get my name in it) |

Re: HRP Update Pack
Yeah, I would like to see some new XXX stuff, too. I am begging anyone to do
- alternate babe screen versions (#1280-1288, 1289-1292, 1306-1311 and 1298-1305 which isn't even done in "normal" version yet) - alternate skin for #1317 (as soon as the model is done). There are more babes which could need XXX skins, especially the latex babes in Ep.4 "XXX-Tacy", but the models need to be done first. I will probably add VacaHRP to the site at some point, too, but right now it seems to have insufficient contents.

Re: HRP Update Pack
Also remember to add bump mapping to the textures!

Re: HRP Update Pack
Adding bump maps is quite obsolete in an engine that does not feature real-time dynamic lighting. I guess you mean detail textures

And, in fact, the only directory that I didn't discard, and I published, besides this VacaHRP mirror, was yours. |

Re: HRP Update Pack
He probably means "promoted". At least I hope so... *LOL*
BTW I am looking for guys able to give my site a new design. The reason why I cannot do it by myself is basically because I am not able to (the current design was in large parts ripped from the old Duke3D Repository, although with permission)... I know about HTML, but creating cool designs is another thing. Prerequisites: - Keep file sizes (for graphics especially) as low as possible to guarantee fast loading times... even on 56k. - The structure of the site itself should remain intact (subpages and contents - it isn't much, anyway). - It should look somewhat more professional like it does now (of course!). I couldn't offer you much, but your name would appear on the bottom of every page of the site (with a link to your stuff if you wish). And you would have my gratitude, of course.

Re: HRP Update Pack
I was always wondering why I still had to run an own site while my stuff is now officially part of the HRP. In the beginning, I thought I could offer additional contents but I ended up hosting all important files plus a few bonus items.
Of course, it makes more sense to have one central site with everything, not creating diversions by opening up (or having to visit) several others. In fact, all three sites (Yatta's, Parkar's and mine) are hosted on duke4.net. This is kinda... weird. I am always open to sensible solutions.
