surround sound question

ok so i recently got sound surround sound speakers for my computer and they've been working quite well. i decided to play Max2 again for the better audio quality but i noticed something different this time.
whenever max's voice over narrates a particular scene during gameplay, his voice only comes out the center speaker. as well as the sound it makes when you leap in bullet time. now the issue is that when it comes out the center speaker its not as loud as the rest of the speakers, its quite faint. before i had crappy monitor speakers and even that didnt sound as faint.
its not much of a problem, but i was wondering if its happened to anyone else. just to let you know the center speaker volume is as loud as the rest if not louder.

There were issues with that on some systems, particularly those with Audigy / Audigy 2 cards.

There was a driver update within a month that largely fixed the problem, but it's possible a subsequent update broke it again.

If I remember correctly, the workaround was to turn off surround sound in MP2's options. This would cause MP2 to default to fourpoint sound, which eliminated the center speaker issue.

Even after the driver update, I found I had to move my satellites farther out so they wouldn't overpower the center speaker.

Heh, I actually like the fact that his voice comes out of the center-speaker, just like on a DVD. But the bullettime is worse, though it never really annoyed me.
