Re: Wolfenstein 3D is 16
I love Wolf 3D
Although I could never beat EP 9... that maze was WAYYY too confusing for me... I must of spent 2 hours one day trying to navigate that :/ Any chance of being able to remake Wolf 3D with a newer games Editor?

Re: Wolfenstein 3D is 16
Theres a REALLY good Doom conversion out there, last I remember the site went down when the guy was converting Spear of Destiny. I might have it in an old Doom folder on my external HDD..

Try this one:
http://www.afadoomer.com/wolf3d/downloads.html It runs in zdoom (http://zdoom.org) and there's a SoD version as well. Pretty good job and a lot of fun. mp. |

Re: Wolfenstein 3D is 16
WolfenDOOM is terrible. (At being a Wolf3D TC that is. The custom stuff is good)
I think the one madpanic linked is the one (Sites back up, then ). If so, its the perfect conversion, from what I remember everything is identical to Wolf3d there but its just Doom engine.

Re: Wolfenstein 3D is 16
The Wolf3D map add-on for ROTT was really cool. I didn't like WolfenDoom either.

Thank you. I did that. Was hard to recreate the lighting the way Wolf did it, but I figured it out due to creative uses of sound zones in ROTT.

Re: Wolfenstein 3D is 16
Well you did an excellent job. I loved how the secret exit took you to the secret level even if it was only partially recreated . It was a very good likeness. And it's doubly good because ROTT already has Nazi-like soldiers in it.

Re: Wolfenstein 3D is 16
I'm kinda working on a Wolf3D mod myself, called Ether. It will feature a more anti-hero sort of character, and will probably feel more like Doom.
Head to www.freewebs.com/ethergame to read about it.

and like others have mentioned.. why celebrate the 16th anniversary? 15th, 20th, 25th.. I get that.. but 16th.. maybe the just forgot until now

Re: Wolfenstein 3D is 16
Why celebrate the 16th anniversary? Because for most computers 16 is a nice round number.

No, because I usually say something about it each year - unless I forget.

Re: Wolfenstein 3D is 16
Hard to believe it's been around for 16 years. I didn't get to play it until I got into PC gaming around the time of Doom 2, but it was still good fun from what little I can remember. I think a full version came with it on the GotY edition of RtCW, so I might have to give that a go sometime.
P.s. Those lego pics are great!
