I'm really not sure why Microsoft thinks the release date needs to be kept from the public at this point.

The only reason I can of is to prevent people from not buying other XBLA games, so finding out game X is out one week will potentially stop you from buying game Y a week before

Logical in terms of Microsoft, but I really won't buy any other game before knowing when Duke will be there and how much it will cost (800 - 1200).

Probably not, but...

I'm sure MS wants to have final say in this, both in pinpointing the date and in actually deciding when to make it public.
We've been helped with posts informing us that other games are release on certain days, meaning those wouldn't be DN3D days, but that doesn't actually prove 3DR does or doesn't know.
(Trying not to read between the lines.)
Could 3DR be waiting just as anxiously as DN3D fans?

No, we know what it is. We're contractually bound not to say what it is. That's part of the deal you sign with Microsoft, apparently. I don't know what would actually happen if we violated that and said what it was, but I'm sure it wouldn't be good.

I wouldn't advice him into taking a chance, Microsoft could probably go as far as cancelling the games release if the agreement was broke, let alone all the elgeal implications that would follow afterwards.

I'm as anxcious as everybody else here but I'm still gonna wait, it's not like Halo 2 and Halo 3 were very short waits either.

It's likely that they don't want to steal the spotlights from the released game, each week. Makes sense.

I had three. I finally bought an Elite, and still have my white one. The Elite has yet to give me any problems.
