Re: Decay - An eDuke32 Total Conversion
How about other demonic/supernatural enemies? Such as werewolves, specters, Vampires, warlocks, or demons?

Multiple types of weapons? (Like multple pistols, rifles, shotguns. Example: Press "2" for a Beretta 92F, press it again for a .44 magnum. Kinda like the shrinker/expander.)

Levels in unusual locations. (Swamp, north pole, Desert.)

The hero (or antihero) having a voice (GTA 3 taught us that is is boring to have a mute charactor.)

Oh and speeking of sounds, if you need some weapon sounds, I got some stored on my HD. I be glad to give them to you. (Some are the actual sounds, others are ripped from CS and Goldeneye)

There will be some "EViL DEAD"ish enemies in the game as well so fret not.

Completely possible and will do.

Keep in mind im trying to make Decay something like an interactive cult zombie horror movie. After I release it people can make any addons they wish. If I get enough support I may expand beyond the current storyline.

Already taken care of, and you wont be dissapointed. This guy is the ultimate anti-hero

I have a fairly wide collection of sounds but if I need any i'll make sure to let you know Thanks for offering though

I MAY be able to coerce a friend into taking some shots of me, but I doubt it.

I WILL be able to contribute MIDIs in addition to levels.

Speaking of levels, I'm making a pretty groovy (dark, spooky, and very nicely detailed) cemetary/mausoleum/catacombs map.

I know Duke had voices! I have like 3 coppies of the game and over 100 maps on my HD! Im a Duke fanatic! But a lot of TCs have voice-less heros, thats why I mentioned it.

ok, so how about multi staged enemy`s, I.E, if you "kill" em once, they get up again, or you blow away thier legs in the first stage and they`ll crawl after you.

and how about fire... precious fire..

light something on fire, hurl/kick at enemy, watch em burn

Well I explained the first part of the story It will evolve as you play through the game. I was/am tired of the whole "arcade" feeling of most Duke mods so I decided to try and work this as an interactive zombie horror movie. So far it seems to be working out great, but you all will have to be the judge in the end

This depends on who I can get to make new enemy sprites.

You'll have a flamethrower in your inventory and when they brun for awhile they'll run around in flames (ala Blood).

MBlackwell also cooked up this kickass special effect where the fire can "spread" to surrounding enemies and the environment, so we'll have to see how that turns out as well

No music at all would be better.

Just a huge array of sound effects playing at different times. If you have music, its harder to feel part of the reality of the game, unless the music is done really really well.

Besides the flamethrower and chainsaw, If you could have any weapon in Decay, what would it be and why?

Also please try and stay away from the overused ones (i.e. The MP5, etc.)

Pysics (or however you spell it), would be a lot of hard work to do. The Gravity gun just uses the physics to the weapon's advantage to lift things and throw. But not a bad idea.

Re: Decay - An eDuke32 Total Conversion
Sience you liked my idea of having two weapons per catagory, I will list two.

Pistol: Sig-Sauer P226. Its got a 15 (Or 12 if u cant change it) round clip of 9mm rounds. Not much for killing zombies, but its better than your foot, they could chew it off!

Pistol #2.
The S&W 629. Oh yes, its the Dirty Harry .44 caliber pistol. Features: Holds 5 or 6 six rounds. And the uncany ability to blow someone's (Or something's) head clean off. Forget the Deagle, this is the orginal hand cannon!

Shotguns: If you want to tribute Evil Dead then go with the sawnoff! And as the alternate: the Remington 870
http://www32.ocn.ne.jp/~infinity/gun...70/m870-05.jpg

Sub Machine/Assualt Rifle/Heavy Machine Gun

Sub: Heres the MP9 as seen in Hitman Contracts. Haven't seen it anywhere else. Its like an improved Uzi. Fires 9mm rounds at a much quicker pace than the Sig. http://www.machinegundealer.com/UZI%...a%20person.jpg

Assualt: Go with the Famas that you already had in a screen shot if you want to. The AK and M4/M16 are already way over used.

Machine Gun: HK 21e. If you thought the MP5 was badass, you never met its bigger, meaner and usually unseen brother. Since they are both made by the same company, you can see the resemblance, but thats where it ends. This thing shoots huge 7.62mm NATO rounds at 800 RPM. Need to clear a room full of pests or want a zombie swiss cheese sandwich? Use this!

Hand Held Explosives:

Molotov cocktail: The classic home made firebomb. Just take an empty glass bottle, add mixed flamable liquids, and cap it with a gasoline soaked rag. Then Just light and throw! Because of the tempory fire it leaves behiend, its good for keeping smart baddies at bay and killing the dumb ones that walk right into it!

C4: It's a lot like silly putty. It can be molded into different shapes, and it can stick to walls. Except a grapefruit sized chunk of this stuff can blow up a house. If you got the setup time, it can be a lot more effective than the Molotov. Comes attached to a wireless detenator.

Rocket Launcher: Say hello to the FHJ- 84. This aint no ordinary rocket launcher. This thing has got two barrels. And since it fires 64mm explosive rockets, its gona make a mess, especally if you use its alternate firing mode.

I need some time to think of some "Non traditional" weapons so I will reply later. And Hudson, becides weapon sounds I got some cool midis too if your intrested!

Thats right, Im back with Part 2 of my weapon suggestions!

High Tech/Unique Weapons:

The Robobuddy: A friendlly worker robot covered with fake human skin. Used mostlly in industry, and maids for bill gates, now are accessible for you. Controlled by remote, you can see what the robobuddy seas, especally if you dont want to go into a dark and scary room. Sence the zombies lack brains and rely on instinct, if they see the robobuddy, they will mistake it for a tasty human. Eventually they will knotice that the robobuddy's skull is made out of iron, and there is all this dynomite strapped to it's chest...

Magical Weapons:

Lucifer's Claw: This rather large animal claw is rumored to belong to the devil himself. Soposidlly, if you collect the blood of your slain enemies and dip the claw into it the ground will rip open, the abominations of hell will thrust their deformed hands out from the gaping hole and drag any nearby beings into the dephs of hell to burn and suffer in eternal damnnation. But thats just a rumor.

Ok thats all I can think of. For now....

Hmm, like the pics of the weapons but the .44? Come on, there's a meaner gun that Smith and Wesson makes.

I introduce to you, the Smith and Wesson Model 500, which is the only handgun that chambers the new .500 S&W round. Guaranteed to send a zombie flying back several feet and then some

That thing seems to be baised off the Colt Python. And that gun was used In Vice City. Im trying for guns that arent often used in games, so the game dosnt feel recycled in that area. Also, what other gun has a .50 caliber round? Yes the Desert Eagle. And that gun is WAY over used! That proves my point.

Edit: The .44 is a classic weapon, that .50 caliber pistol is new. And the game is not dawn of the dead, its a play on classic zombie movies. And your saying that a .44 isnt mean enofugh? Please watch Dirty Harry, and you will see what just one shot does to thoes punks.

Small minor update: I have completed the soundtrack

Weapon art is just about done, as is the coding (except for the molotov). The enemy code is done for the most part and we now have two levels to wreak havoc in.

The weapon lineup has changed some but i'm not going to spoil it for you

So right now the only main obstacles i'm having are enemy art and levels.

More updates to come...
