wow...the thing that sux is that i wanted to play this demo

but it wasn't for 360 so i downloaded the pc demo...took like forever..itz 3:13 in the morning it installs and then...IT DOESN'T WORK...cuz oh yea my pc sux..so thatz why i got a 360...***

what happens is it loads...goes into "big mode" flashed back into small mode but the black box is still there...then it like blows up and does the don't send error report thing...***

Well I finished the demo, the game is pretty good it combines a lot of different elements and over all it’s quite fun. I like how the environments change, the mini-planet/globe, the indian village place, the bar. In a way it’s a very simple fps with some extra twists to keep it original. For example the spirit walking is quite interesting, portals that show off another room like a window, the wall walking/gravity. Judging from the demo I would say it’s a buy.

However I did have a number of complaints.

* AI is quite crappy and the spawning from portal is a lot like Doom3/Quake4.
* Some of the levels and even monsters look a lot like Doom3/Quake4.
* The multiplayer is pretty boring and runs like complete crap.
* Physics engine is quite crappy, it’s not on par with Havok in my opinion.
* No large and open environments.

I would give it a 7/10, based on the demo.

I finished the demo a little while ago, and have been spending most of my time in MultiPrey

I suppose my impressions will differ quite a bit from Primo's. Firstly, the game is really, really well presented. It's got an epic feel, has a great beginning, and progresses in a natural way. The opening alone (the conveyer trip) had my jaw on the floor; so much is going on, and there are so many little details, multiple playthroughs of even just that sequence is warranted.

By the way, I really do think special mention should be made of MultiPrey; for me, it's a throwback to my days as an Alien in Alien vs Predator; travelling around the MP levels feels absolutely organic and natural once you understand the layout of the levels, and Spirit Walk adds a significant amount of strategy to battles. Absolutely intense, and most of all, fun.

I can complain a little about the framerates. The bigger areas coupled with multiple people fighting just means you can expect a little slowdown (even if you're on a really powerful rig). It kinda sucks, and it can really mess up those difficult shots when it comes to the Spirit Bow. I recommend turning off the shader effects (it makes a big difference when you're in spirit mode, as spirit mode tends to be more graphically intensive thanks to the cool effects).

All said and done, I had a blast with the SP demo, and even MORE of a blast with the MP, which is something I didn't exactly expect, but nonetheless enjoyed.

Don't worry man, you ain't the only one. I am having trouble with the PC demo as well the demo won't even launch, ah it's so annoying. I have my computer up to date (drivers etc). Sounds like we might be having the same trouble actually. Plus my computer is far from a crappy, so I really don't understand why it doesn't wanna launch. I have alot games installed currently and none give me trouble. (F.E.A.R., Battlefield 2, Day of Defeat Source, Hitman Blood Money, Tomb Raider Legend... I could go on and on.)

Oh well I'm sure there will be a fix soon.

I really, really tried avoiding the Prey Demo because I want to experience the full game from start to finish with nothing spoiled. But damn, everywhere I look I see advertising for the demo and read impressed statements of people who played it. I really wanted to avoid the demo but now I'm sitting here at my PC and download it.

Curse you, 3D Realms and Human Head, for making such an exciting and promising game.

However, I'll still try to avoid the singeplayer modus and just check out the multiplayer-part. Anyone else here who *tries* to avoid the singleplayer until the release of the full game?

Okay, NOW the sound it working! What an awesome game! It's unlike any FPS I've ever laid my hands on... This really takes the Doom 3 technology to its limits, trust me on that one... Can't wait for the full versions of the game for both platforms. It's gonna kick serious ass on both X360 AND PC.

I'm all outta words to describe it... The floors become ceilings, and the ceilings become floors, I've never seen an FPS that used this type of gameplay... Man, the Doom 3 technology can be twisted in all sorts of weird ways, literally...

EDIT: Oh yeah, I love how those belching things work out of the ceilings and walls, too... Are those like the Barnacles in Half-Life/HL2?

I especially noticed how there are no godawful messed-up-by-compression normal maps like in Doom. Yet loading times are fine. Nice. -I can't see my feet. Minor nitpick, but still... -God, that grandfather is annoying. And I can't even shoot him into the face. -Don't fear the reaper. -Enemies are a joke. I could just stand around in the middle of a fight and didn't get hurt. Worst part of the demo. -Oversized, glowing arcade pick-ups are stupid, but I didn't notice anymore after a while. -No reloading. Why? -Voice acting is fine. Really don't know what everyone's whining about. -Some interessting new story tidbit. (Rebels on the sphere? Where do the ghosts come from?) -That main machine gun-esque rifle sounds and feels really weak. The freezer's really cool, though (Hahaha! Cool! Get it? Hohoho!). -Where does Tommy put those crab granades when he's not holding them? -Hope there's more than just flesh/metal corridors later in the game.... -Multprey runs like ass for me.
