Not many of the games outside of Doom and Streetfighter get much attention. This seems to be getting alot of attention from multiple sites/magazines.


My gt is mitcheal if anyone wants to add. I also play a good amount of Battlefield Bad Company, Madden 09, Head Coach 09, and small amounts of COD4/Halo3. I'll be on DN3D ALOT.

I am surprised by the amount of things you can enable, disable, customize, change... no Xbox 360 game I've ever played let you change so much. This version sounds like it's going to dominate Xbox Live Arcade. I'm just so freakin' excited.

I will not waste a single second, let alone a penny on this. Its a gimmick to attract new fans to the franchise. I doubt Duke Nukem would have ended up as the obscure asset it is today were it not for the repeated blunders at 3DR.

Its great, and i'm glad we get to enjoy Duke again....but let there be no illusions, this has very little if anything to do with pleasing the fans, and more to do with a strategic move to "revive" duke if you will...

In order for Duke to survive and the business to do what it is supposed to do (make money) - They need new fans\customers.

Plus, it gives them some console programming experience, and I get Duke on a large HDTV without having to deal with hooking it up to the computer.

I mean, I really want the themes and gamerpics but not sure wether to spend money if theyre all gonna be wiped when avatars comes out

Hard to say, but I'm actually one who never owned a console-based Duke game, ever since I had a PS1 since 1997 or so, I never really gave any of those games any thought. However, with Duke XBLA Edition, this will get me in to what I've been missing. Any Duke game I've owned was always behind the keyboard and mouse. I'd be happy to convert to console DukeMatching.

For those who don't like/suck at the pad/controller



I will say before I got my 360, I had a laptop that was a year old, and a PS2. I played my STEAM games on the laptop, along with many different RTS, and played GTA/sports on my PS2. I could NEVER get into FPS on it because I sucked and it was hard to control vs a keyboard/mouse. My computer was soley for that.

When I bought my 360, I got it along with BF2 and Madden 06. The HD graphics shocked me and the controls were tough, but after maybe 3-4 days to a week of playing BF2, I mastered it.





So all those who are not fond of the console release, don't worry with the XBLA support, this will be the best edition of DN3D to date.



Longtimefan1984 - As of now, to many gamers besides hardcore DN fans such as ourselves, Duke Nukem is a forgotten thing of the past. When I ask people if they've ever played a DN game, they have to think about it. With DNF *eventually* getting released, it's a very good move to release DN3D on XBLA. It gives the name new light, and exposes it to a new generation of fans. And gives the hardcore fans a new port and better multiplayer support
