I'm confident somebody somewhere, with 3D Realms input, will make this Duke Nukem Forever game (or a reasonable facsimile) within this decade. Hell, maybe within the next five years.

I still care about DNF! I won't be jumping to conclusions every time a tiny piece of news comes up though. I have been silently reading these forums for many years now because if I ever want my Duke news feed this is usually the best spot to come to. I have a lot of respect for you Duke fans for being able to wait this long. Just gotta wait it out. I believe Duke will be kicking a** in the near future.

First post here, and new to the forum but a long time duke fan since the old pc games. I must say that i have been waiting for DNF for as long as I can remember, and I must say a demo would really create huge hype as well as satisfy this intense 13 year itch I have to play this game.

IIRC, 2012 is when all monies loaned/advanced to 3DR becomes due, or has to be repaid.

I don't remember an IP being mentioned anywhere except for when 3DR accused T2 of trying to get the IP in a 'fire-sale' over a year ago...

I thought that there was no money loaned by Take2 for Duke Nukem Forever. It was either for another game or from the company that Take2 bought.

I could be wrong though. I wasn't one of the ones that knew about the court documents the moment they were available lol.

The waters are pretty muddy in respect to the money side of it... to those without inside knowledge of course, but from what I gathered T2 loaned/advanced Money for Duke Begins and some 'other unannounced games'. Though I have read elsewhere (a long time ago and I don't know the sources anymore, sorry) that they were loaned money specifically for DNF.

I'm sure the money regarding Duke Begins and these other games is fact but I don't think they were loaned money specifically for DNF.

If only my memory were better and I had the patience to find the sources again :P

I ran into someone today who plays shooters online and I told him I was looking forward to DNF. He laughed and said something like he couldn't believe people still think it will ever come out.

When it does come out, it really will be shock and awe for the general concensus of the naysayers. I look forward to that more than playing the game. I guess it will only convert those naysayers to game critics though - they'll have to save face by calling the game crappy - I guess it's a rather shallow victory in that regard.
