That'd be a really cool idea for the beginning of DNF media. Imagine the spark that that would ignite in kickstarting interest in DNF.

MP was innovative, I'd say. It had the graphic novel story lay-out, an original character damage system reflective on the char. animation, photo texturing, bullet time ( obviously ) and another number of tech gadgets and quirks. Besides, can you think of another noir-detective 3'dps?

Still, we're talking Remedy more than 3drealms, so any connection to DNF should be a pretty mild one.

I was thinking more of the everchanging status of the project during this era, rather than any possible release speculation.

Anyway, back to whatever you guys were talking about.

Damn scary-looking pig cop. Let's hope this game comes out sometime... I remember waiting for it many, many years ago... and so many years have passed... let's hope when it finally comes out the game play lasts as long as the wait :P

What? It's not like the DNF team is doing something else besides making the game. Get your facts straight before making stupid assumptions.

I'm going to say this one time, think before you post.

As noted above, the fact that 3DR works with other companies to produce other games doesn't really affect DNFs development at all.

Tim. Just Tim.
Re: Programmer ad
Do you have a source for that?
Id like to know more about how that works.
Sure, we know they only develop 1 game at a time 'in-house', but that doesn't tell us anything about how much time is spent 'out-of-house'.

For eg, when they were working with Human Head for Prey, Im guessing they put a significant chunk of resources (time & people) toward Prey. Afterall, without a significant chunk of resources, they couldnt have been much help. And any resources put toward Prey is resources taken away from DNF. What am I missing?

There's a separate group of people that works on DNF and another group that HELPS other groups, not work per se with them.

Re: Programmer ad
You are missing the fact that it is Scott and not George that is responsible for 3rd party games. Sure they do play test the 3rd party games but that is mostly done by the administrative staff like for instance Joe and a select few DNF developers.

Scott recently hired a Creative Director, Raphael Van Lierop, to help him with the 3rd party games.

But that is simply the division of labor between the two owners, George does DNF and Scott handles the 3rd party games.

You want a quote:

Quote:
Should gamers be concerned that all of this 3D Realms Project business is taking away resources from the much-maligned Duke Nukem Forever? "No, not at all because basically this company is co-owned by two people, myself and George Broussard," says Scott Miller. " George Broussard is Mr. Duke Nukem. That's really his project. I don't have much to do with that and he doesn't have much to do with all of the external project that I work on."
- Recent Game Informer sidebar on DNF.

Edit:

DavoX that isn't really how it works.

Hmm, apparently the job ads are declared "inactive" now. Does that mean they've been filled? Or that a certain amount of time has just passed and they just went into inactive status?

Actually AFAIK the inactive status is the Gamasutra way of removing the ads.

It has happened several times before with the ads for programmers and environment artists.

That kinda reminds me of Doom, somehow, can't really place it. Really, I am still wondering how big will pigcops be compared to Duke. In DN3D they were a little shorter and wider, but this seems like it is really taller than Duke - hard to tell based on these few tiny images, but that is the feel I get. Might be due camera-angles and such. Who knows(3D Realms does )
