Duke Nukem 3D Freezethrower trick?!

I was watching some Leaderboard speed runs, and I keep seeing the same thing,
at the end of the run the player shoots the freezethrower, and the level ends.

On "Going Postal", #1 player shoots some cardboard boxes and the level ends.
On "Stadium", the #1 player shoots the entrance elevator and the level ends.

How does this work!?

No, go into Duke Nukem 3D on Xbox Live, select leaderboards on the main-menu, then go to singleplayer, change the thing to all players (Not just friends). Skim along with RB until you get to Going postal. On rank #1, press Y, watch the video and at the end the guy shoots a cardboard box with the freezethrower and the level ends.

I personally don't know about this freeze thrower trick, but i'm friends with some of the guys who do those time trials. I will ask them about it.

If this is true, then the effect should be achievable on atomic PC as well.
But I have never herd of this before.

"basically when u freeze yourself, the in-game timer stops while everything else in the level keeps going on. the only downside is that freezing urself corrupts ur file, so the rest of the level has to be done in 1 segment."
