I watched the PopMart DVD last weekend, marking the 10th anniversary of seeing the concert live. :D The friend I went with couldn't believe it had been 10 years.

I know what you mean though. On the Vertigo 05 DVD, Adam seems to be the only one having any fun: Larry looks bored out of his brain, Edge looks like his mind's a million miles away (possibly because of his little girl), and Bono's just using it as a soap box for his political agenda. (Although the cel-phones did look amazing live)

I didn't get to see ZooTV (side-stepped my city AGAIN), but apparently it was so expensive for them they were only just breaking even. And PopMart was a bit of a flop, so maybe they're too nervous to throw too much money at stage shows now. And leaving the Vertigo equipment in mothballs for 8 months wouldn't have been cheap either.

They're back in the studio now with the Unforgettable Fire-Zooropa crew, so hopefully the new album will be more experimentation and new ground rather than another U2 cover album.
