If somebody can...
Please tell me what this means when I try to load a new level or example level in MaxED and what I can do to solve this annoying problem.

An unexpected exception has occurred while rendering.
Please save your work and exit the program.

Error message: CreateDevice Failed - invalid call

Ok, guys.

This happened to me. It means you have to update your graphics' card drivers.

The best thing to do is go to Windows Update:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsupdate
(you have to visit this site through an Internet Explorer 5+ based browser as it does not work with Netscape based browsers such as Mozilla)

See if there are any avalible driver updates (in this case graphic drivers) for your machine, if there are download them and this should fix the problem because if your computer is of 1ghz +, its going to have a decent graphics card. This worked for me.

Hope this helps you guys aswell.

Bunny_Wolverine you should probably upgrade to XP and search again for graphics drivers for XP[/i]

PS> Thanks to Kozak for suggesting this to me.

I have NVIDIA Geforce4 MX 440.

But the graphics' driver I downloaded (released Oct. 28th) was for pretty much all of the NVIDIA graphics family,

Maybe this is just me, just me... but to me WIndows Update has never found me any outside-mMicrosoft drivers. Always get the drivers from the real manufacturer/developer.

You can find 3rd party drivers on Windows Update.
That is how I found my nvidia-card driver.

I'm aware you can just go and browse through the maufacturers drivers, but it easier with windows update because it only gives you updates that are specific to your machine (apart from of course, critical updates).

This would mean that if there were any drivers made by the company that made mike's card listed, they would be compatible with his card.

Re: If somebody can...
yeah, maybe.

But its a bummer because you managed to run the actual game. I blame the manufactor for not releasing any new drivers for it as this would probably fix the problem.
