We've been asked about this for a long time, we've had fans pleading with us for some sort of announcement or information. Well, today is the day!

We're very pleased to announce that "Duke Nukem 3D for Xbox LIVE Arcade" will be coming to your Xbox 360 console soon!

As has been reported around the net today, we can confirm that the game has indeed passed final certification with Microsoft on Friday the 15th of August (on our first try, no less). That means the game is done - it is now in the hands of Microsoft. At this time we cannot give you details on release date or points cost, as we do not have that information. There's plenty of really cool stuff in this new update to a classic title. While we're not quite ready to divulge everything yet, we can tell you this.

There is a preview available now in the October 2008 issue of the Official Xbox Magazine. This issue of the magazine is hitting subscribers' mailboxes starting today, and will be available on newsstands in a few days. Some of the folks from the Official Xbox Magazine have been playing it, and have written up a preview about the game and their thoughts on the game, having played it. You definitely won't want to miss that.

Look for online previews of the game to start appearing on August 26th. We're really excited about this release - and we hope you will be too! More info on the way - stay tuned!

Wow, I want that issue of OXM in my lap more than anything else right now.....


I'm also wondering about the whole look of the game. At worst case scenario, it's a simple port with the same visuals.

At best case scenario, the 3DR team has secretly been working their a$$es off rebuilding Duke 3D on a modern, "true 3D" engine. Or possibly got help in doing so from another dev. Scaled-back DNF tech, anyone?

so... what? PS3's PSN is just getting left in the dark? look i love microsoft, i really do. making small indie games is a lot of fun, learning to program is kinda easy without taking any college classes (ill b getting into them soon tho hopefully). but microsofts Xbox is a big messup IMO. the thing breaks down all the time, its not even worth trading it in to get it fixed. after mine broke for the third time i threw it out and got a PS3 and i love it. Is there any chance that the PS3 is ganna get DN3D? id love to specially since Duke ports wont work on my new computer... .... but hopefully, either way, this means they are trying to rekindle interest in duke to get people hyped for DNF, especially since they are comin out with duke 1-3 for DS/PSP , im sure to get that, my friends are too. whether DN3D is released for PS3 or not, keep up the good work 3D Realms, u guys are awesome.

From what I heard is that it's easier to develop for the 360 and developers are more garnteed to make money on the Xbox 360, the online installbase is also a huge factor aswell.

As for the hardware failures as annoying as it is the customer service is top notch and for me it only took a week to get my replacement system in April, fort me I would never buy myself a PS3 due to the fact that it just does not have that many games that appeal to me.

As for Duke Nukem 3D going to the PSN, that is all up to 3DRealms if they wanna work on another port.

Ahh... Stadium... great memories! Blowing up the blimp like a pinata and all the goodies rained on the field. And escaping the boot when you were shrunk by using the jetpack. Such an awesome map.
