Max 1 more handsome than Max 2

The poor guy lost his looks, he was quite debonair in Max I and somewhat illegible in Max 2. I suppose it is the side-effect of too many painkillers and being shot many thousands of times.

I agree. Plus, Max from part 1 is based on the writer from the development team at Remedy, so I'm sure he'd be happy to hear that too.

To this very day i'm still annoyed he went from a twenty-something badass to some coot with a midlife crisis.

Game 1: Nothing to lose, popping painkillers while avenging the death of his family.. getting to the bottom of a conspiracy that ruined his life.

Game 2: After miraculously escaping the electric chair for his rampage he decides to give up a perfectly good job and start popping viagra while wholesale slaughtering legions of people for.. well, honestly I don't really know. He just really liked to kill people.

still irks me aswel. i never quite did understand why they had to change the apearance.

It always bugged me too and I always thought it made no sense. Like even if they did make a Max Payne movie I knew it sure as hell wouldn't be some dude from a soap opera playing him. Then even if it was, nobody would care that the videogame character had looked the same.

They didn't have to - it was because Sami Järvi no longer wanted to be Max's model. I've heard that he's quite shy.

I'm not sure whether it's true or not but I've heard that Sami (& co.) chose the actors/actresses for MP2 themselves, so apparently the way the characters look in the second game is as close as it can get.

Sam Lake performs as Payne in the graphic novel in Max Payne 1. Naturally, he's also used when modeling Payne's face for the gameplay.
And as far as I know, Vladimir Lem in Max Payne 1 graphic novel is performed by Marko Saaresto (the singer of Poets of the Fall).

You guys have probably paid attention to the TV series showed during the game play of Max Payne 2. I don't know for sure, but I could swear that they're performed by Sami Järvi and Marko Saaresto.
Each of them, Address Unknown, Lords and Ladies, Dick Justice (funny MP1 -reference by the way), all starring either or both of them.
Does anyone know wether that's true? :P

To say something concerning the topic, I really think that Max in the first game is way cooler than in the 2nd.
It's not bad in that game, either, but it definitely has the real 'Payne feeling' in the 1st game, the second game lost it a bit.

One thing that Max 2 really lacked was snow, and I'm not talkin' about the sort of snow that caused the current economic crisis!

I just loved the peace of the snow and crunch of the ice underfoot. It calmed me down during the game and gave an amazing athmosphere to the game.

Still whose complaining?.....Well I am because I want a Max III and something tells me it aint gonna be Alan Wake! I'm not saying Alan Wake won't be good but it wont be anything like Max.
