eDuke32 on Windows 7 - can't get music working
Hey guys,
I installed eDuke32 on my MacBook running Windows 7, and amazingly everything works really well! Except the music Here's the log: Code:

Re: eDuke32 on Windows 7 - can't get music working
I don't know what is wrong but I bet that soon someone here will say "install Open AL". Eduke32 should work flawlessly on W7 BTW.

Re: eDuke32 on Windows 7 - can't get music working
As always, check the sound volume properties (of your PC, not the game) to see if the volume for MIDI is turned up. Certain programs tend to reset the volume to something really low so it becomes inaudible.
If you're trying to use the OGG songs (included with the HRP IIRC) then do what Spiker said.

Quote:
Code:
Using group file 'autoload/DUKE3D.GRP/eduke32_mus.zip'. If you haven't already, you need to install OpenAL to get the HRP music working. Otherwise remove eduke32_mus.zip to revert to the MIDI music.

Re: eDuke32 on Windows 7 - can't get music working
My man...
Windows XP is the best windows OS. Forget vista and 7... Since Bill Gates left the Microsoft development team, windows are going worse. And guess what ? XP was the last Windows version Gates worked on. After XP it's chaos. You might like the 7's taskbar and icons more,OK. But with XP you will: Open files faster Have better FPS at games Less bugs Have the most compatible Operation System exists. If you are in to windows install XP,or else stay with Mac OS. |

cole: #1 cause of EDuke32 midi not working on Windows is simply the midi volume being muted in the Windows volume control. I've heard Windows Media Player causes this to happen, as in it happens every single time you open it, so this is probably your problem. |
