CRC Error while installing Prey Demo...plz HELP!

I desperately downloaded Prey demo from Strategy informer.com, took almost 9 hrs...and after completion of it, now when I try to intall it, its giving me this CRC error....grr!



This is the error message:

'CRC error. The file C:\Program Files\Prey Demo\base\demo00.pk4 doesn't match the file in the setup's.cab file. The medium from which you are running the setup may be corrupted; contact your software vendor.'

If I click on 'Retry; the installtion bar progrsses further, but after a short instant, it again give me same CRC Error...'Ignore' terminates the installtion process altogether...don' t know what to do....

Plz, someone can help me?! plz!

Oh no! RE-download that 450Mb?! gosh.

Does that also mean the source from where I downloaded is 'faulty'? In that case what would be the 'safe' source for re-download? or may be the fault is with my download manager program? (I use DAP)

Gamershell is always a good choice.

Not So.

I am encountering the same problem.

I D/Led 3 different copies from File Front, ClubSkill, and Yahoo Games.

I ran Registry Mechanic after each uninstall and have tried D/Ling to multiple locations with no success.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

It is possible the setup executable is being corrupted by antivirus protection of some sort. Try disabling any antivirus you have installed and download again. You can also try downloading to another PC and then bringing it over to yours, if that is an option.

That did it!

I D/Led to a different data drive w/Anti-Virus disabled and the installation went smoothly.
