Help with SW Sound Setup
I have tried to set up the sound correctly but I have been unsuccesful. I know there is a portion on sound setup on the 3drealms homepage but I was unable to use that to my advantage. My soundcard is an ESSAudiodrive which is Sound Blaster compatible but it keeps saying theres a problem with an "incompatible IRQ." I followed the instructions on 3drealms.com to the the best of my ability but to no avail. I appreciate any help that can be provided. The music works, but not the sound effects I just got this game in the mail the other day and I am not looking forward to playing it with no sound. Thanks in advance. I apologize if this thread has been done before and I am prepared for any flaming that may come my way for being a newb, but I would appreciate all seriousness.

You need to use Jonof's port:

http://jonof.edgenetwork.org/index.p...ownloads&cat=2

It's still very new and may have a few kinks here and there, but it is the only solid way to play the game on a current machine.

Thanks for the link, one quick question however, how does one use it? there isn't exactly a read me file that clarifies.

Just download and extract the latest JFShadowWarrior binaries package into your existing Shadow Warrior folder (perhaps running setup to make sure all the settings are correct) then run sw.exe as usual.

Actually, if you've played JFDuke3d, all you do is download the JFSW Binaries into the same main SW folder where the EXE is, overwriting the DOS version with the Win32 one (JFSW)

Then setup the options and might I suggest you use a lower HZ for the sound thing.. 440085 or whatever doesn't sound precisely good on SW..

why? i use 44100 myself and it sounds fine. actually, it sounds about the same as 22050, because most sounds are 22050 or less.

Actually, the Lo Wang talk seems even "cracky" when at 44100, doesn't sound as good as the lower versions.
