Common/black
I've noticed the common/black texture in Predator, and I can't remember seeing this in D3 or Q4. I used to use a plain black texture when using Worldcraft and Hammer for various reasons, but I'm not sure on it's intended usage within Prey. I've looked at it's use in the official maps, but am still unsure what purpose it is serving. Can anyone here give me the good news?

I'm sorry but, your post is very confusing. Mind explaining a bit clearly?

We really just used the FlatBlack texture behind some of our flesh models and patches. Every so often you will have an area that you really don't need to waste time texturing because its covered in the shadows or behind a huge model.

Re: Common/black
Thanks for the response - it makes sense. I'll use it in the same way. Cheers.

Sayantan, if you look in the common textures folder, you'll see a 'black' texture. If you load some default maps you'll see it used in various ways. I was merely wanting to know what it's purpose is because I wasn't sure, and well... I'm a curious bastard. Now we both know :-)
