Yingyang The Making of Shadow Warrior

So, I was searching for some old information about Shadow Warrior and I managed to find copies of all of the development update pages thanks to the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. I created a local copy of them and then uploaded it to my dropbox account

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17689746/Sha...tes/index.html

The weekly updates go from March 1996 to September 1997. There's tons of great development details and early screenshots. Just a fair warning, most of the screenshots from 1997 weren't saved by the Wayback machine. I think I managed to find a few of them from other 3d Realms pages though. At the bottom of each page are links to the other months.

Nice you brought this up, I remember delving into the matter a bit too

I think some of the screenshots don't show up in the archived pages because of the wrong code, not because they're actually missing.

Also, I think RTCM has an archived copy of the Shadow Warrior development pages, and also some of the pre-release screenshots that were only available on CDs of other 3D Realms' games.

I honestly didn't see your post I've tried searching for the missing screenshots like this:

http://web.archive.org/web/199801290...sw/sw0297.html is missing http://www.3drealms.com/graphics/sw/sw0128.jpg so, I enter this in the swayback address bar thing: http://www.3drealms.com/graphics/sw/*

This displays all files in the sw directory. I really don't think those missing screenshots were archived. Oh, how would I get in touch with RTCM? It'd be great to have the completed development update archive

edit: Nevermind. I saw this: http://dukertcm.com/knowledge-base/d...ior-shareware/ and I downloaded http://dukertcm.com/knowledge-base/d...pmentpages.zip but, it's missing the 1997 screenshots too :/

Shadow Warrior was a great game and I loved the Art as I am Asian biased a bit.
I volunteer Stephen Hornback for the modern production!

I updated the main page to include links to each month. I also included source links at the bottom of each month's page directing to the wayback machine archived copy.

Hmm, my memory is a bit shaky on this, but I think I played around a bit with the code of the retrieved pages to get the images working... I'm not sure, gotta check.

If you could somehow find the missing 1997 screenshots (and the background image for the 1997 pages), that'd be awesome!

Okay, here's the files that I've got:
http://www13.zippyshare.com/v/51276439/file.html

[Edit] Compared the files with the ones at archive.org, everything seems basically the same. Don't know what's with the 1997 screenshots though, I think I didn't even try to get stuff from that year.

Hmm, is it me or does the dragon design on the top screenshot on this page really look like it comes from Rise of the Triad?
