Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 3
As I said, it is already in HRP so donīt worry. And it has the orange tint skin you suggest to use.
Here is the model again as it is currently in HRP (as seen on the screenshot in my previous post). If you want to modify the skin, Hellbound, feel free to do so there: http://files.to/get/368976/28552/2630_battlelord.zip

689 is not microscope, I think. More likely it is medical equipment for blood tranfusion.

Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 3
Alex, that's 669, also pigz, that 689 looks worse than the original sprite... it doesn't even look like a stand with a bloodbag anymore :P Work on it a bit more and we'll be grateful.
EDIT: Sorry Alex, didn't check the whole download folder first. EDIT2: And while I'm at criticizing you pigz, solar panels aren't usually made out of many rotated separate parts like yours yet but a >panel< which is all wired through, nor the duke one looks the way you made it and you should also connect the stand to the panel, fix the missing faces and delete the bottom faces of the stand since they're completely useless and just wasting the polies.

Honestly, I don't know if any release date for the HRP can be given right now, but if you're working on anything or plan to do so soon, it would be cool to let us know.

But the pigz's 602's panel looks nothing like a real panel nor the original.

I removed the unneeded panels, I attached the foot, I UV Mapped it and exported to md3 again. I also zipped up a tga of the UV Map.
did you look at the model?

Evil Frogg 'aka' OVERLORD... IS DONE !!!

Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 3
I love your Battlelord, but this one...it looks like the Muppet version of the Overlord. The legs especially seem like they belong on a hand-puppet. I'm just basing that on the screen shot -- maybe it looks different in game. I wish I could be more constructive, but I don't know anything about modelling and 24 is starting so I'll be gone for an hour. I'll try it in game when I get back.

Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 3
Overlord with small teeths is an heresy!
http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/9...rlord3dsg3.jpg Edit: I hate it. I hope that ingame it would look better, but... Look the Hellbound post, compare his avatar and the Overlord. At least I can see the quality difference between the two works. =/ I see many problems here: 1 - Too small. He is a kid on the side from Battlelord and Cycloid. 2 - The face doesn't remember in nothing the original, and maybe the body too. 3 - He looks a frog(!!) toy, not a dinosaur aliens monster. O_o Edit 2: Here is his face. This is what I would like to see.

Heh, it sounds like Hellbound was up all night working on that. I'm sure he'll be back to make some improvements after he gets a rest.

Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 3
Why to hate it instantly? This model is a (very) good start.
I think Hellbound made teeths smaller, because he didn't wanted to make them curved, this increasing polycount. I'd prefer them to be curved like on artwork and hell with polycount. Head should not be so big and round, also it would be nice to have several more spikes added. And he needs claws on his legs and hands. |

Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 3
Nice The skin needs a bit of improvement though; you always throw this grainy thing on your skins but in-game the guy always looked a bit slippery and .. freshly shaved
Btw I sent you a pm like three years ago

Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 3
Good start, Hellbound!
Continue to work persistently with this model! Give to Overlord's face expression of a rage! At present, he more similar to a toad-gangster. Success in work!

Och, ilovefoxes I wish only to say that I hate YOU. I wish to see your face after you was ****ing upi with some model a lot of hours and somebody would write just "I hate that", "It's shit" or something like that. |

Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 3
I think eyes should be close to each other a bit and a bit lower also. First spike should start almost between the eyes , next to it should follow two smaller ones pointed to different directions (left and right).
His hip's forepart need armor too (like in a sprite and artwork), otherwize he looks naked. Original sprites have an tongue. Maybe you missed it intentionaly. (?) Detail skin with scale 1 is useless, I think, all bumps may be painted directly on default skin, result will be the same. All the rest (muscles, proper shadows etc) may be easily corrected with skin. edit. And yes, I saw it ingame and I liked it Still, there is some place for improvement left. |

Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 3
yep. detail texture is useless on models in 99% cases.

Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 3
Well to be frank, if I got such destructive critics (even if itīs just from one or two guys) for 24hrs of hard work, I would very likely just resign.
1) Everybody just stop writing this stuff is shit, for it simply isn't. You should be grateful for anything that is posted here. "I hate it" is definitely the wrong way to express your criticism. 2) Hell's model has just been released. It is the first version and will be improved, just look at the Battlelord. It was never said it would be absolutely perfect in the first place. 3) Tea Monster is currently doing another run on the Emperor, so let's wait until he is finished with this. Need some fresh air now... *EDIT* @Hell: I take it your model uses muzzleflash texture from Battlelord? I am asking this because I renamed it to "2630_muzzle.png" for HRP usage.
