Ah. Someone else missed that 3DR ran out of money and fired the developers before Take-Two sued them.

Take-Two is suing them because they were no longer expecting DNF to ever be delivered. Ending the court-case is not beneficial to them and does not mean that DNF will suddenly be back on track.

Todays software development IS enormours complex and "political". I' know about it well in personal. But if *really* a dev-team was working on a game based on the same engine I'll give it a chance. Remember: DNF engine was completed as software allways is :-)
Ok, in the case they using a different (Unreal-based) engine it takes time and money.
If "only" some content polish/mappacks and bugfixing is needed they could do the job instead of Duke Begins.

One the financial side, I'am was told there are some FIVE TIMES BIGGER products/projects are cancelled and no one in the generell public even heared about them - not games of cause, but softwareprojects. - believe it or not.
Good news: Some of the afterwards projects learned a lot from the cancelled ones and are
successful today! That means they are done but are growed extremly expensive if you include the cost, time for the cancelled predessors...

Do we "little people" have forseen the worldwide economic crisis - the financial sector burning a lot money and people? I think not. But they have always burned a lot of money in silence before this crisis.

Yes. George perhaps won a lot in Vegas to finance T2's 2.5 Million bucks or the dev but
he also visit the mighty King while Scott having some kind of T2 swine flu?

DNF is something lasting forever so it may be THE also almost bugfree game of time and complexity and FUN When IT'S DONE :-).

I like 2. take two will have all the money they want when the game is done, it sucks it didn't come out but you can't suck a dead horse for blood, you want to run that thing dry better try and get it healthy so you can get something out of it.

now sure, you don't want that when you're trying to squeeze someone for every penny but the fact is a dead horse has no blood so what's the point

take two NEEDS compensation but I can tell you this, them winning this won't give them that compensation
