Issues installing

I just purchased the game off 3drealms' website, I am running Windows Ultimate 64 bit, when I try to install it, it gives me an error that will not allow me to continue, I have contacted support, but was told to try to run it in DosBox, upon doing this I got the message "This program cannot be run in dos"

Any suggestions?

Could you post the ecxact error message and if you are trying the dos version or one of the windows ports?

It says "Error 0 running command INSTALL.EXE

I am trying to install the full registered 1.3 version downloaded from 3drealms' site after I purchased it, so that would be the DOS version.

well the dos version should run in dosbox, the error you say in your first post indicates that you run a windows executable in dosbox though. So I'm a bit puzzled.
I only tried the shareware version of rott inside dosbox and that installed fine.

It is a windows installer, I assume it should just extract that ROTT files to a folder though, so I don't see as to why it has to error out like that.

have you tried using winzip or winrar on the file to extract the files ?

Yeah you need to extract the setup files from the exe you downloaded using winzip or winrar. The extracted files should then be run using DOSBox.

The WinRAR thing fixed my problem! Thanks a lot guys =)
