DNF Outtakes
I was listening to a collection of John St. John outtakes on youtube and thought it'd be great to use that for the closing credits of DNF or just includ them in a collector's edition. Also if there aren't any copyright conflicts it'd be nice to include the other impersonations he does during the course of the outtakes(his Captain Picard and Smithers are spot on!).

Re: DNF Outtakes
It'd actually be great if they could do full-on outtakes, the way they did in "a bug's life" etc.
* Duke doing a jump puzzle and falling somewhere out of the map, and the level designers rush in and look down the hole scratching their heads. A distant voice of duke can be heard "I'm alright!!" * Duke pushes a button on a vending machine and it clunks and whirs, he looks around a bit enbarraced and pushes the button again. The machine blows up in Duke's face and the camera pans around to show George sitting in the director's chair "Cut!!! somebody get me another soda machine, oh and wash off Duke's face for christ sake!" * The familiar scene with the guy starting to say "What are you going to do, save the world all by you*BAM* a pigcop blows his head off! "CUT!! goddam it, for the tenth time, come in AFTER the line is finished!! YOURSELF!", the pigcop lowers his head in embarracement "shoorry" and scampers back out the door. * "Duke, the situation has deteriorated, and I'm afraid.... no wait.. the Earth defence force has *CUT!* * The huge building comes crumbling down and from the smoke and ashes a T-1000 emerges, walking intently across the mountains of debris towards duke, the music ramps up and as he reaches Duke "Come with me if you want to live" and extends his hand.. *CUT!!!*, roars of laughter can be heard from behind the set, and the T-1000 applogizes "hahah, sorry I just had to do it!!!" Stuff like that ![]()

Re: DNF Outtakes
Some of those are funny, but to me it'd be funnier just to have an interlude in the credits of the various voice actors (duke being prominent) natural bloopers and fark ups.
Staged bloopers are not nearly as funny. ![]()

Re: DNF Outtakes
Yeah, the bloopers they show at the end of CGI films are funny, but not that funny since you know that they were staged and planned. Sometimes they are really well written though.
End of the game credits or possibly unlockable (or just there fro our enjoyment) snippets of lines butchered or something. Those are funny and make it all worth it in the end.

Re: DNF Outtakes
Yes I agree with the direction this thread is going. A major factor in the success of D3D is the voice of duke and to hear these new outakes and more like them would fit perfectly into DNF. We really could have alot of fun with this.

Re: DNF Outtakes
I agree I don't want staged bloopers, however most bloopers just consist of someone messing up a line, swearing then everyone else in the room laughing. I prefer creative voice actors. Jon St John improvises very well. Here are two shows with a creative cast.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaAiSWXRCiI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X024nhJ40mM Both of those are just shorter clips, the entire blooper's for either of those shows is a lot longer and quite humorous. |

Yeah, I don't remember seeing any captains' logs in Duke Nukem 3D.

Re: DNF Outtakes
the staged bloopers at the end of toy story are good. I wouldnt mind a few staged bloopers in some unlockable or extra content in DNF. If they did it the way pixar did in toy story then that would be cool.

Re: DNF Outtakes
Man, i Don´t know, well, i do like the idea, it seems interesting, i just burst out laughing with the T-1000 "scene", and the pig cop "scene" has some potential too...and "if" the "general talking to Duke" part is still there, well, maybe there could be something done, and I think it could be really cool, but, oh well, lets see if they decide to do stuff like that, and/or how to do it, or something different, but I really think that something to laugh at through, before, or after the credits would be really interesting indeed...

Re: DNF Outtakes
...what?
"Duke Nukem 3D Playstation Sound Outtakes By George Broussard - June 11, 1997 These voices were being done for the Playstation version of Duke Nukem 3D ("Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown"). " Duke Nukem 3D outtakes. I dont care about the nuance that its the PSX port. Its still Duke Nukem 3D.

Re: DNF Outtakes
The "nuance" is the WHOLE POINT.
They were not done for Duke Nukem 3D - the original game. They were donw for Total Meltdown.

Re: DNF Outtakes
I think bloopers need to be spontaneous to be really funny, but I do like the staged stuff that Codey mentioned. The pigcop one could be quite hilarious if it was playing through the credits.

Re: DNF Outtakes
I am 1000% behind Codey, I just laugh so much thinking about the situations he writes. Even if they are staged, it would be awesome to have stuff like that when the credits come up. I can't tell you how much I loved the Portal song at the end of the game when the credits rolled, made me laugh so much, it made me appreciate the game so much more. I do hope 3D realms does something like that and not just the Duke saved us again ending, but give that extra touch that gives you that smirk.
